Twice- first time was for charity (raised over £2000) and second time was with family, both times was only about half n hour from top n had to turn back,, raging as I was determined to get there, next time maybe. Tx

The Ben Nevis Bar is pretty good too. On Argyle St at Finnieston, from looooooooooooong before Finnieston became trendy.

Dont be too down that you 'just' missed out ... The 'last half hour' is actually way more than that ... People on the way down were telling us only half hour to go for about the last 2 hours

And even i sunmer nevis has its own climate! I went on a scorcher of a day in june and was making snow angels at the top!

Done the tourist path up a few years ago. Got back into hillwalking of late and appreciating the wonderful views more now. Great exercise too

Prob done it a dozen or so times over the years. Dont use the tourist path- its far too busy. Go up the back side of the hill, its far quieter and u get stupendous views of the cliffs!

Ben Nevis by the Carn Mor Dearg Arete.

For experienced, fit mountain walkers who do not mind easy scrambling but are not climbers, this is the finest way to climb Ben Nevis. This is a truly spectacular route incorporating two Munros. It will live long in the memory and does true justice to the mountain.

I did it in May 2017, thoroughly enjoyed it, great 4 days with 2 close friends, sadly both died in a light aircraft crash in the Mull of Kintyre.

A high point was the climb, lowest point ever with the aircraft crash.

Yes a few times, although May bank holiday last year was the only time I managed to get some views. Roasting it was.
