Says it all; Nicola Sturgeon joining the fight for the macaroni pie, meanwhile the economy of the Islands etc is screwed due to the ferry crews' industrial action, thanks to the Scottish government putting the ferry contract out to competitive tender.

Interestingly, when a similar situation arose with Spain and the Balearic Islands ferries, the Spanish government simply renewed the contract with the existing ferry company!

When are the British and Scottish governments going to wake up to the fact that part of the reason why many countries are perfectly happy with the EU, is because they enact and enforce the laws which suit them, and ignore those which don't.

It's called 'working the system', wakey wakey Britain.

I believe there's an on line petition to get them to keep it, in Scotland at least. It's gone global lol.

I'm sure the macaroni pie was covered in a small sub-section of Devo-max.

It's gotta be kept, it's a Scottish institution!

Was working with a Dundee band a few years ago who introduced me to the 'pae roll' from the bakery near whithill. Don't eat meat so indulged in a macaroni 'pae' with broon sauce.

A culinary delight it was too.

I support Nicola! (And I suspect there's a fair amount of her own tongue firmly embedded in her cheek over this).

Ah yes, the great law-abiding British, salt of the earth.

That's why the country's bulging at the seams with imigrants from all parts of the world, they like our lawful attitudes.

But as for it being "the law", I hope you're not insinuating that the Spanish and our other European friends are law-breakers? Oh deary me!

It's because no one else does macaroni pies. You saw them by the truck load (singular) on the news trying to get over the channel for a Gregs. If they start selling them abroad, problem solved.
