Seen a bit on news . How folk can find it acceptable to climb on a cenotaph is confusing to me. Maybe this was same folk that welcomed an Irish republican parade when it was passing the square...

Would that be the same square that had the sectarian orange fest last week ? Blue (or orange) tinted glasses I think.

Freedom square ffs

The Orangefest event never addressed the crowd like the liar Tommy Sheridan did at a Pro-Independence rally when an IRA parade went along George Square he told the crowd that "it's alright, they're friendlies."

Well if that's what the Pro-Independence Yessers believe are friendlies then im glad i voted NO.

Tommy Sheridan ain't a fachist

Take yer orange order and ram it that far up your own arse it'll propell you back to the dark ages where you's belong !!

Anti austerity , caring and showing a helping hand for the less fortunate in society , not like you self centred as long as I'm ok in life fucking half wits ,

The safest thing about a scot voting no thanks is accepting there a peice of shit on Westminsters shoe !

Power to the people , Caladonia and all who believed

Dear oh dear. Where to start with this. The Orange order is a fraternal Protestant brother/sister hood. Same as RC religion that don't allow a protestant to join priesthood without converting. No difference whatsoever.

Anti austerity?? Well let's blame the half of the population that voted for the SNP in last election. They allowed the Tories to have another 4 years in power. Wonder if this same party will do their duty this time around and go and vote at Westminster. Just like the time they couldn't be arsed turning up to vote against the bedroom tax.....

On another subject. Why are scottish government buying steel from China for forth road project and work put on hold for a month. Do we not have good enough steel in Scotland....

If it is anti austerity then who is buying the drinks?

There is no place in Glasgow called freedom square.

Maybe there should one be to commemorate our fathers and grandfathers who fought in two world wars to give us real freedom from oppression rather than this misguided and totally wrong impression given out by salmond and sturgeon that scots are downtrodden. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Im English,so why have you been over Taxed and under funded from day one,You need to get a grip on the real world, and realize its the same no matter where you live in the uk,The area I live in has an actual shanty town like you see in 3rd world countries, where people are so hungry they scavenge though bins just to find food. Also the SNP are just the same has the Tories, why would trust anyone who wants complete control, they aint going to improve the poorer peoples lives, they only want the power of being a prime minister of a country and all the other benefits that come with it...

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

Oh dear. A users thread "hi-jacked" to spout personal beliefs rather than steer clear & ignore it & get on with their own lives.

I hope the OP managed to get to meet with other Fabbers who share their personal preferences rather than get roped into some of the other posts on here.

If nothing else the threads responses tells us who to avoid & ignore rather than attack or mix with if they don't share or views, opinions & preferences.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

Whilst I partially agree that calling George Sq by an alternative may irritate Unionists it could also be argued that Glaswegians have traditionally called areas & placed by alternatives.

The Squinty Bridge, The Heilanman's Umbrella, Boots Corner etc.

Perhaps the OP was using an alternative that others in the know would respond to. It was not a Yes voter or an SNP supporter that posted... It was someone going to the Anti Austerity Rally. So we shouldn't assume anything other than a couple on Fab wanted to meet others going to that Rally.

Neither was it the OP who wandered off topic & let the nastiness creep in.

It's just s shame that some want to try & spoil another swingers day by feeling the need to respond if they had no intention of meeting folk that don't share their views or preferences. As I said earlier, this should tell us more about ourselves than the OP liking to hook up with others attending the Rally.

If the OP had simply stated...'George Square' then no problem.

Also, If I asked someone to meet me at Dizzy Corner as opposed to Boots corner would they know where it is....?

central scotland

Always the same people who manage to turn posts in to sectterian shit and spout the bile.

As far as I could see the main point of the post was anti austerity until mr Glass turned it into a matter of religion. And mr Glass if you can take a look at facts it would not have made a difference if Scotland did not vote SNP as the Tories would still be governing us and the real reason is Labour are no longer a peoples party they are just another shit self seeking bunch of parasites. Scotland voted for SNP get over it.
