No news before meeting

Hi All,

Sorry this is something I do not understand. I apologise in advance for ranting...

It happened a few times, you agree on a date time and place to meet up with someone.

24 hours before meeting the person is not answering and you can see that the person is online.

I just do not get it why people act that way. Either you wish to meet someone and you play the game or if not just be honest from the beginning.

If there would be any tips to avoid it I would take it.

I do not get people promising the moon and not even bothered to message to tell that they do not want to meet...

Things should be simple either this is a yes or a no.

But at least a message does not cost a penny.

It drives me mad ..i dont tend to get ignored but do get some pretty poor excuses on why they suddenly cant make it

i think a lot on here are only looking to chat and dont actually want to meet ..

thats fine if they say that upfront instead of wasting peoples time

i dont get a lot of free time so when it happens it really pisses me off x

It's because some people like the idea of meets, but when push comes to shove, they crap out of it!

Soooo frustrating!!!

"Its simple .....you choose them change your methods "

this ....and my reason for that is i have been on this scene for alot of years and hear this very rant often tho never experienced it myself with my single profile or with our couples profile ...think alot of this comes from some people trying to get meets as quickly as possible or get too focused on the shag rather than the person they are talking to they miss the signs that something is just not quite right

I think it's a fine line - you want to get to know people and the best way to do that is chatting to them. But some find it easier to chat in person and are not into a lot of messages back and forth.

We're quite happy to exchange a few messages then have a social, there are other people we've chatted to on here for ages but not yet met. Everyone is different.

The only real time we've been messed about is by arranging to have a play date with people we haven't met socially. Partly that is down to our timing problems, in that it's rare to have evenings together so when we do we want to play, but are not near a club. That's when the timewasters appear.

We've found that putting the groundwork in is essential.

Agree with B&B here.. you might need to try people at socials or spend a little time chatting. One or 2 posts to someone isn't going to get a people that are 100% all the time...and people do get scared, some just bottle it.

I agree. A bit of ground work good and of course its natural to get scared and bottle it but a simple contact to say no isnt very hard but as Mr Audi rightlly say just better to learn from it and move on..

For what its worth I think it is just bad manners pure and simple! yes you will get people who have to genuinely have to cancel, but there will always be the wind up merchants & bottle crashers. For me its check the veri's chat on the phone & make judgement call as to whether you arrange meet or not. Unfortunately theres no one size fits all solution.....You just have to suck it and see....

Yes this has also happened to me

What turns these people on that they build up someone's expectations and then let them down?

Brings back so many bad memories of timewasters.

I had one lady ask me to go over to her place and when i asked for the address she blocked me. Another one i had spent about 2 months messaging and chatting on the phone then got stood up on the day we were actually going to meet.

I could go on but you get the general idea. Timewasters are all over the place.

If I say I will be at a meet I will be there. I have only ever had to cancel once and that was because of a family emergency and I did reschedule.
