National Lottery rip off

The Poor Man's Dream will now get harder

In effect, by increasing the Lotto ticket price by 100% to £2, Camelot has given punters a massive, inflation-busting price rise. This caused a flood of protests by disgruntled players, with thousands posting on Twitter and Facebook that this 'rip-off' will stop them playing the UK's most popular flutter.

Clearly, this proposed price increase is aimed at making Camelot and its partners more money, but may backfire spectacularly, resulting in a 'Boycotto the Lotto' backlash

AND NOW; NOT JUST CONTENT WITH £2 PRICE RISE they now increase the number of balls

the introduction of 10 extra balls.

From October, Lotto players will have 59 numbers to choose from - up from 49 - in what is being billed as the biggest overhaul of the National Lottery in its 21-year history

All in all its still considered the poor mans dream and escape from reality

keep on dreaming, whilst Camelot makes billions

"Baskets wont get another penny from us if that's their intentions. "

Sadly I said that when they raised the stake to £2 and lowered the jackpot, but like a mug, I went back and played, I only just stopped playing 8 weeks ago and realistically its like an addiction with a hope of striking it rich, but that's 8 weeks I have stopped, and will try my hardest not to but one other single ticket.

A £3m lottery prize has gone unclaimed after the winner, who bought their ticket in Stirling, failed to come forward in time today.

turns out today you have a 1 in 14,000,000 chance of winning the big jackpot

when they add a further 10 numbers this will change to a 1 in 45,000,000 chance

wave goodbye to any dreams

"should have given the license to branson , Camelot are just taking the piss "

Giving Branson the Lottery. One of only two peers of the realm who received their knighthood after a conviction for fraud.

Someone's still got to win it, regardless of the odds.

Odds of 1 in 14 million are pretty huge in the first place so it doesn't really make all that difference if you up it to 1 in 45 million, someone at some point still have to win it.

You don't get it, their main intention is to increase the duration of time for the top prize to be "rolled over"

If it is a roll over it is not won, they still pocket full cash and the interest on the top prize until it is won; You need to remember Camelot is a "Business" not a charity, It is set up to make cash for the company and share holders

it prays on the poor and lower class who feel their only escape is a chance of winning. The opportunity to win to main jackpot has risen from one in 14 million to one in 45 million and what you will now see is consistent roll overs where net income from sales goes straight into the business.

Mmmm food for thought. Are there alternative lotteries out there with better odds and where more of the money goes to 'good causes'?
