Posted this in the meets section but got no response, so trying it here.

We're hosting our first party in a few weeks - sorted a lovely apartment and slowly building the guest list.

Now I'm thinking of what we'll need to bring, and how the night will go. I'm writing lists but wondering if I'm possibly forgetting anything.

For example, should we have a couple of icebreaker games or just let things flow naturally?

Other than the usual condoms, lube etc, are there any other things we may need?

Has anyone here hosted parties before, and if so what would be your most important tips and hints?

We've had a couple of very helpful PMs already, just want to cover all my bases. Thanks

Sounds like you have it covered, make sure there's bins in any playing rooms.... Nothing worse than wandering around with condoms

As hosts, make sure you let everyone know what the ground rules are, what rooms are for playing and what's out of bounds and, most important of all, don't concentrate so much on your guests' comforts that you miss out on the fun yourself and that the alcohol doesn't get scoffed before you get any!!!!! Leave some nibbles out as well for guest as appetites seem to get worked up at parties and also making sure a good supply of water is available helps as well.

But most important, let ur guest know not to be greedy and try to take over. Can be a nuisance and spoil it for all if one person does that.

I would say have plenty of drinks available. Not alcoholic ones but iced water and soft drinks.

Make it clear about smoking areas.

We have organised a few Young Farmers balls, usually in a barn where we don't have to worry about loud music, our main concern was they hay due to people throwing down cigarette buts, I take it that it will be a no smoking event

You sound like you've got a lot of it already covered . I'd just ensure that the playing of loud music and whatever other noises may come from the apartment is not going to be an issue for closeby neighbours (assuming you have them)if it's not a residential area then even better . Also floor noise if youve got peoppe below you and theres a crowd of people coming . Previously had to tell guests they werent able to wear stilletos both due to noise and expensive flooring .

I'd advice that you take own sheets and take duvets off bed . But waterproof sheets for under them and make rules crystal clear to everyone attending. And move all moveable and breakable furniture that you can to avoid any damages. Plenty mixers and tea and coffee .
