So sad to hear he has passed away.

A true legend who's influence is still felt today.

RIP.

Greatest respects to be paid to one of the founding fathers of American blues music not just that a guy who lived out his dreams and also inspired a whole generation of artists.

How sad, another of that amazing blues era passes on.

I'm happy I had the good fortune to see him live on several occasions.

A huge loss. Lucille silent forever. But he kept going and going. A true bluesman

So many good people who brought us pleasure have gone recently.

Yes, I was there too. . . A very memorable evening. Could have listened to his riffs all night.

Very sad news indeed. I was fortunate to see him in 2001 at De Montfort Hall Leicester. Lucille was in fine form that night.

Loss of a legend indeed.

On the topic of blues elder statesmen, if you can find it check out the album 'Jammed Together' featuring Albert King, Pop Staples & Steve Cropper. Three guitar greats.

A true legend never lucky enough to have seen him in person but have heard and hope to continue to hear his influence for years to come.

Saw him live at The Playhouse in Edinburgh (twice) an ex then one memorable night at The Royal Concert hall in Glasgow. Seats in the front row of the choir stalls at the back.

He made the band turn and play two songs to those in the stalls.

A true entertainer who'll be sorely missed.

Unfortunately we seem to be losing these great musicians more frequently now

There aren't really any new ones taking their place either

Rest in peace and show the afterlife how to enjoy great music
