"...Getting loads of coverage across the media/social media as they start at Westminster today. Just wondering if anyone recognised any faces? (if you know what I mean ) " Not from here and very few from anywhere else. Few of them recognised each other too. Same thing happened at the last Holyrood election - loads of people who never imagined for one minute they'd get elected found themselves sitting, bewildered, in the chamber.

"I'm sure I read that a number of SNP MPs are not taking the full salary, one is only accepting the Scottish average wage. The rest of the salary will be used to run his office, so no extra expenses claims. Also Alex S is giving his full salary to charity. Like their policies or hate them, that's your choice but they aren't ripping the people off they have been elected to represent for personal gain. Genuine question, are any MPs from other parties doing anything similar, or do they milk it for all it's worth? Dx " Alex Salmond is certainly not squeaky-clean in this area.....from memory there were some issues with his expenses and salary claims a few years back. A number of Labour MPs in the past....couldn't tell you about now.. claimed just a working wage. It's not uncommon for MPS to use part of their salary to run their office.

"Is it just me or is it a bit ironic that my old 'English' teacher is an SNP MP now?" If she taught Gaelic she would be following in a long line of Bilingual MPs from oop north.
