Got a vanilla night out in Shawlands tomorrow night and not sure where to book. Has anyone tried the new place opposite Queen's Park pond, Loks or the Butterfly & Pig and can recommend the grub?

Loads of choice...Di Maggios, Shimla Pinks, theres a burger/grill place on Pollockshaws Rd that has a good name, a good few on Kilmarnock Rd...Ketchup/The Social (if its reopened)

Ta for responses but it's really just the newer ones I'm looking at (apart from the Ivory which I've been to numerous times). The burger one down towards Calder Street is Buddy's of which I've heard really good reports. Would be quite happy to head there but mate's wife wouldn't lower herself unless it had a Michelin star

Forgot about that one but probably going to stay in the middle of Shawlands....the gravitational pull of my mate's local will probably stop us moving to far from there.

The Butterfly & Pig won in the end. Superb meal for four with live music just starting as we finished.

Highly recommend!
