No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Just a curious question

Prompted by so many st Patrick day message on my Facebook page lol

But why is it do you think so many people in Scotland

Choose to celebrate st Patricks day when no one really seems so passionate about our own patron saint st Andrew?

Isn't just Scotland, it's the entirety of the UK and beyond anD I suspect it's basically because the Americans started treating it as a big deal, everything that happens there culturallyhappens here 5/10 years later after all.

It seems everyone with irish ancestry is IRISH regardless of where they were born especially in west of scotland and the good ole USofA...personally id rather celebrate my own country of birth than the 1 my grandfather left to come to

Guinness must be laughing i bet they make more today worldwide than about the last 6 months combined.

I know a couple of Irish guys through work who say they actually loathe it as in the UK all the pubs are full of pretend Irish yet after a bit if digging/conversation it turns out the closest link they have is from spending a dirty weekend in Cork with there partner lol

As i said i think most people just love a party and days like St Andrews,St Davids day and St George's day as seen as being boring/stuffy.

As i say Guinness have marketed this very well and now everywhere is draped/lut up in green for St Patrick's day.

I'm sure the people out tonight will have fun on their minds
