70's & 80's tunes??

Jump to newest

Ok, so the playlist for the Stirling social (20th March - Don't miss out on a fab social) is in progress, thinking of some classic floor fillers and dance tunes that take you right back to these times.

So what song does it for you?

Also any decent suggestions for the social playlist, maybe some 80's with a modern twist or a remix of a 70's disco classic or indeed that tune that takes you back?

And just for fun where does it take you back to?

Was watching a top of the box 80's episode last night with mrs snogalot combined with Chinese and cake

For me it was yazz, I had my hair peroxide white and done as hers was . I was 17 and worked in a hairdressers. So having my hair done was never a problem. I had a trendy wee checked cream and brown tartan outfit . Short pleated skirt and short fitted jacket. Wore thick tights and ankle boots with it to the pub may I add . I sneaked in pretending to be 18 the only way is up and it's definitely a significant song that's been played throughout my life and still makes me smile .

Sugar, ah honey honey

You are my candy girl

And you've got me wanting you.

Honey, ah sugar sugar

You are my candy girl

And you've got me wanting you.

I just can't believe the loveliness of loving you

(I just can't believe it's true)

I just can't believe the one to love this feeling to.

(I just can't believe it's true)

Ah sugar, ah honey honey

You are my candy girl

And you've got me wanting you.

Ah honey, ah sugar sugar

You are my candy girl

And you've got me wanting you.

When I kissed you, girl, I knew how sweet a kiss could be

(I know how sweet a kiss can be)

Like the summer sunshine pour your sweetness over me

(Pour your sweetness over me)

Sugar, pour a little sugar on it honey............

sorry I got carried away with this feel good song

"sorry to spoil the fun...is this not a 60's tune from the archies, came from a cartoon series if i remember "

It was written in 1969 and there has been "cover versions" for last "5 decades" so realistically, it could cover 6 decades, from 60's right up to now, you only need to "Google" it to realise this

one thing for sure, there aint many feel good records like this one no matter what decade

Yeah, but is realistically gonna want to or remember the cover versions.. Doesn't matter as there are amazing tunes for both the 70's and 80's and I hope all have an amazing time.
