Fears

I was at the dentist this morning and have opted to have sedation to get a tooth out as I'm petrified of everything relating to a dentist; smell, sound and pain. Its strange because for anywhere else I have a really high pain threshold but not for mouth pain.

So what are your fears?

Oh I'm the same, I can't even go into one without having a panic attack.

I've also got a serious fear of being buried alive, scares the living daylights out of me.

As a child I was terrified of getting my hair cut but a visit to the dentist was a canter. I used to have a 3 day shit fit at haircut time

Dentist is my fear. And bugs - flying or creeping, from ladybugs to wasps and hornets. He's not keen on spiders. Spiders I can deal with.

Spiders and snakes. When we go on holiday I am absolutely terrified of getting bitten by a mosquito as I react quite badly to them

Hospitals. Technical term is noscomphobia.

My mum has COPD so she's in a lot and even going to visit freaks me out. Within ten mins I feel like I'm suffocating and have to leave. I then have to go home and shower otherwise my skin would crawl.

When I had my son's I was lucky and able to sign out after a few hour's.

And when I got ill last year they allowed me to sign out and go back as a day patient. They didn't make me wear a gown and allowed me to sit in the waiting room rather than the cubicle as much as possible. It's all over my notes now that it freaks me out that much.
