Chat room

Stopped in tonight for the first time in ages. From what I can see it's changed from a chat room to a cam room. Said 'hi' a few times and was pretty much ignored but I'm pretty certain if my cam was on I would've been swamped (based on what I could see everyone was watching)

This is more of an observation than a complaint as I'd kinda given up on the chatroom a while back when the thrill had gone from it. Just feel sorry for newbies who are maybe looking to interact with people on there.

O o O oo

In the many years that I have been using chatrooms it has always been the same...even the chatrooms with no cams.

Saying "Hi" isn't enough, you have to butt / join in or no one will notice you.

Having the ability to chat while retaining a hard on is always a plus for me

Seriously I can enjoy the craic from time to time but it's just like life, no one gets on with everyone all the time do they?

you have always had to work a conversation in chat, unless you are female... then you can have the cam on your ankle, back of knee or showing an empty chair...and you are guaranteed 'hi honey looking good'.........from people with drool running down their chin & over their keyboard...

but hey, it's fun

Hahahahahaha

I've been on and off it for so many years and this is the worst it's been. Doesn't help that I barely know anyone in there anymore and the newbies tend to talk to their pals and everyone else gets ignored half the time but I enjoy it when the old regulars are in, can be a good laugh

The chat room does seem to be more difficult to actually chat in these days. As has previously been said, it can be rather clicky and you have to almost barge in.

I (Mr) used chat rooms many many years ago (who remembers Freeserve Chat?) when broadband was a distant dream.... was on a 14.4k modem back in 2000/2001 or via my mobile phone paying 1p/minute on a GPRS connection!!

It was just the same then - Say Hi, no one answers, indeed, why should they? But, get involved in the convo - have a laugh, make fun of the situation (not at people), make fun of yourself and then you get more response and 'chat'

Back in the day a 'hi' was enough for me to get a conversation going. Maybe I was just lucky back then. As I say though, it's not really a moan as I don't really intend using the chatroom. I just popped in to see what it was like these days.

Some days are better than others...in saying that even the good days are nowhere near where they used to be (Mrs)

Aww ffs dry yer eyes people! Be prepared to meet new friends and loosen up. Yeah the site definitely is quieter and chat is different but go with the flow and all will be ok

Yep, I agree. You say hi and get ignored quite often in there now. It is not so sociable in these days.

I'll keep trying though!! lol
