In this day and age (and on a site like this) is chivalry still appreciated and desirable, or should we all revert back to our caveman roots?

On this site not all have manners sadly there are few cavemen who think women are here for a service and chat & meet on there say so but thankfully few with manners and respect so age of chivary isnt completely dead

Give me a man with manners and I'm a very happy lady... If he's a caveman in the bedroom then even better!

Totally alive and well but sadly not all men have it .

Gentlemen are my prefered choice of playmates but they must also have that nawty streak that also attract me to them

Not a true gentleman if they don't have that nawty streak to begin with in my opinion

Your quite right Kola in that women are capable of holding their own but I for one think its nice when a gentleman will comes to your defence once in awhile .

Ive also seen a few gentlemen do this on here and it is nice to see .

Of course women can look after themselves and certainly don't require us gents to protect them, however we should always treat them like the ladies they are and go that extra mile to make them feel special. If however some man starts getting out of line then times do require swift action to put them in their place.

I pride myself in being a gentleman at all times. I'm not sure if it's always appreciated as I do try to display it at all times. I know there is a massive imbalance of lady's to gents here and sometimes wonder if being polite and respectful is sometimes a reason for not receiving much feed back. That being said I wouldn't want to change that and of it's not appreciated so be it (sure there's a French phrase for that!).

Manners as has been said many times in this thread cost nothing! However, please and thank you are perhaps not attractive in the bedroom!

I as a woman can hold my own never needed a man to defend me.

My brother still cracks up because I tend to be the protective one of everybody.

He tells people her bite is worse than her bark

But being to much of a gentleman bores me I need excitement

It's important to me. I'm very independent but I do still like the idea of it. However I think sometimes your expectations drop and people then get just as far without it so stop making the effort.

It should work both ways though. Women should also follow the lady code. It's a bit lost on here too though I suppose

Personally, even if chivalry was on the way out I'd still do what I could to keep it going.

I held a door open for a woman at work and she looked completely stunned. That said, I work with a bunch of neanderthals and social hand grenades.

Manners are always to the fore...and Chivalry is defence of anyone under attack.

I have on a number of occasions defended ladies in chat...when they have come under attack...I know that most people are well capable of defending themselves...it does no harm in adding some weight to that.

To be honest I would never want to be described as a caveman...and I am never boring or bored...my over active imagination makes sure if that.

People seem to be confusing chivalry and manners, two different things.

Right back at the beginning of my time on here, I defended and supported a lady and got dogs' abuse for it. But I have a long memory!!

The white knight syndrome is a fasinating one, it is lovely to see when they are supporting the lady, it is funny to watch them then fall out and have spats in the forums.

Then the white knight become the person they were defending the lady from...

I'd still rather be a 'white knight', even if things change in the future, so be it, it's life, we move on.

But I still have a long memory! Abusers beware!
