Lack of reply

Am I the only one who thinks it's just plain rude to not reply to a message. I get plenty from people who are not on my preferences, or who just don't fit, but always reply, even of it's a no thanks.

If somebody holds the door open you always say thanks, it just manners isn't it? Or maybe it's just me that thinks being polite is a good thing.

Your thoughts?

If someone doesn't meet what I'm looking for as per my profile, nope I don't reply...

If they think it's rude so be it. I think it's rude that they haven't read or have read and ignored my profile.

OP, I refer you to Miss McGinty's Manual of Swinging Etiquette (available at all good book shops £9.99 hardback) where you will find your question in the FAQs...

Miss McGinty's frequent (in fact permanent) response is

"Tough luck Chuck"

I used to reply to messages for a no thanks. Thought it was only polite. But for some rejection is not something that they take easily.

Ive had only messaged you because I thought fat bird like you didn't stand a chance felt sorry for you.

Or had thought you were easy because of your verifications

So that is why I don't reply

Think us guys underestimate exactly how many messages the ladies on here get!

Yes, i agree it would be nice to get a "thanks but no thanks" response, but can completely understand why a lot of ladies (and couples) don't. It would just take too much time.

OP, as has been explained by several ladies, it's not unusual for them to get 10s of messages a day. Yes it would be polite to reply, but when some clearly state on their profile that they're not meeting, it's pretty obvious that the guy hasn't bothered to read their profile in the first place, so why should they be polite?

A certain lady recently got an unsolicited message from a guy. When she referred him to her profile, she got back a load of abuse, with him even questioning why she was on the site. Enough said I think.

I totally agree with you both, quite a few on here who have been dragged up instead of being brought up properly. Manners cost nothing and at the end of the day It's nice to be nice and not to be nasty, a quick sorry no thanks would suffice.

I think you would be surprised just how often a quick "sorry, no thanks" doesnt suffice actually.....

I get asked why not, what am I looking for, messages from attached/married/bi/bi curious when my profile clearly states I won't meet any of them. It gets frustrating and down right annoying. I do try to respond to all messages, but my patience is not limitless. My mother brought me up to be polite and we'll mannered, but it's a two way thing.

"*well mannered. Damn phone."
totally agree and sympathise will all you gorgeous girls on here regarding the abuse and criticism etc you must take on a daily basis, and the amount of mail you receive, its just not pratical to sift through them all and reply to each and everyone you are simply not resourced or have the time to do this. Perhaps Admin can create a box standard reply so all you do is tick the box and hey presto thanks but no thanks is sent. The ratio of men to women is off the scale on here just like some of the users lol.

There is no need for an automated reply. If you took the time to read the FAQ,s it clearly states that a no reply is to be taken as a no thanks. So your answer is already there

that all depends on the message! if its a 3 or 4 worded message that someone has not taken time or effort over then no reply is necessary.

If however someone is constructive and takes time and effort to sit down and have a good conversation even if one way then a reply will be sent with same effort

For those of you who think you should reply to ask messages, how do you deal with all the spam phone calls for PPI etc.

Do you really explain to them how you are not interested, it just hang up?

PS I've managed 4 minutes playing the hello game ( just say hello all the time took they hang up)

I've said similar too ie wonder if those complaining about lack of replies take the time to reply to all the junk mail that comes through their doors at home?

At first I thought what was the point typing a message then boom deleted no reply. But have now thought about it and actually feel sorry for woman on here who must get 100s of messages a day.it is not realistic to get a reply every time not ideal but that's life.Just got to stick it out and hope that you get noticed among the sea of men all spamming woman's inboxes.

When you have 30+ messages waiting for each log on and the majority of them have clearly not read your profile or have used a copy/paste message there is no way I am replying to every message.

Also have been pestered and hiven abuse when I have sent 'thanks, but no thanks' type messages.

As much as I would prefer a thanks but no thanks response rather than no response at all, I've seen enough statuses giving me an idea how different it is for ladies compared to guys, so I just accept it and move on. Now if you'll excuse me I'm just going to crawl into my rejection hole once more...

Its the abuse I've taken in the past that stops me trying to be polite now tbh

The secret answer to your question is in most of the ladies answers. Read the profile from start to finish, then read it again to make sure you fit there profile. Then send a mail. If you don't get a reply, move on,simple really.

There was a time it bothered me, but at the end of the day there's enough kink to go around. Seek it and ye shall find, don't waste time feeling hard done by because your message was ignored. We've got it easy, we just got to keep looking and asking. The ladies and couples have to filter through all the bullshit, cock and balls, and bad English.
