"Loosing the will to live when have to go to gym. Used to go 4 times a week after long shifts now it's the last thing I want to do. How do you all push yourself and motivate yourselves to go??.... " Regardless of whether you use a gym or go cycling or whatever, you have to want to do it. even if you're knackered and had a shit day, you have to be able to say to yourself 'lets go'. I spent the first seven months of last year losing about three stone and looked great in the summer then for no apparent reason i decided I couldn't be arsed and stopped going. Guess what happened! Lol! Back at it now though. If you're looking for motivation, think back to how good you felt after coming out of a session at the gym or how you felt when you saw weight coming off (or whatever your goal was). That's what's helped get me back to training again.

"Have to agree with some on here Wrote a spiel on the Gym newbies thread about how funny I find the topic of modern gyms. You don't need a gym, you don't need to waste hard earned cash in joining one either. Change of lifestyle works. How far do you live from work. Can you walk, cycle, a lot cheaper and a damn site better for your health. Leave the car at home more often, A simple walk to the shops every day burns calories. I am no personal trainer but I do coach Boxing and Martial Arts, when was the last time out with the Heavyweight Division you saw a fat boxer. 99.9% of these guys don't use expensive modern commercial gyms. The same don't even use weights or machines of any kind, similar to swimmers. I have competed in Scottish National Championships in the Ring, swimming pool and athletics tracks and I've seen the inside of one of those places on a very rare occasion. I don't even watch my diet I eat what I like and when. Exercise is the key issue and simply going for a brisk walk or cycle everyday burns your daily calorie rate " There is no way I would cycle to n from work. I work 13 hour shifts so would have to get up in middle of night just to get to work lol and last thing I want to do with being on my feet all day so that's a def no no for me lol. Pure gyms ain't that expensive. I would love to do boxing but always falls on a work day

"The best thing about taking a bike is you HAVE to cycle home cause you have the bike with you. If I was goin to go to a gym after work then I woul prob think nah just go home lol... its not as tough as you think....honest " I would love to say I would cycle to work but it's not an option as my work is a fair distance away and would take ages to cycle there and would be at silly o clock n I would prob get knocked over knowing me

"The thing about exercising is you have to find the one that you enjoy and then mix it up so it doesn't become boring! I get bored very easily and when that happens have to motivate myself or do something different. The worst thing is forcing myself as it then it becomes a psychological battle. I love Pilates and going to the gym - making an attempt to go back this week as I haven't been since I broke my foot in October. Shy " Ouch sore one. I used to go 4 times a week and enjoyed it and became addicted now it's gone and such an effort to get there but once I'm there it's fine. Wished I was one of these slim girls who could eat what they wanted and not have to exercise. Could be worse I guess

Am doing a 28 day challenge just now designed by a PT who I have a lot if regard for. If you want details PM me. Shy x
