social in glasgow once a month????

After last night success what would you lot think of having a social in the same venue once a month would be a great meeting point for new members and a good night out to catch up with friends let me know what you think

Great idea,but,, just an opnion folks and thinking of everyones privacy and discretion.

Is same place once a month being discrete and taking care of folks privacy, as i say just something to consider, i love idea of having such a place too.

Hmmmmmm gonna b the odd one out and say not sure if it would work as i think it would restrict it to prodominantly ppl who live near to glasgow also most folk wont fork out for hotels every time therr is one on

and also most ppl only play at weekends due to work commitments so this would restrict playtime too

just my thoughts but hey if it works we'd might pop along now and again xxxx

also think it takes the excitment of the one off socials away too xxxx

great idea andy would deffo be up or it,,,,how would it work out tho to be able to guarantee the numbers required to keep it free,,,think that would be difficult to maintain on a regular basis,,,dont be disheartened it is feasible and a good idea xx

surely you can't hav it in the same place every month as this would totally rule out peoples rite to discretion

i thot that the reason for changing venues every social was to keep it all a secret and preserve discretion

please remember this is a free site so anyone with access to the internet can join the site and see in the forums and therfor will know where and when the social is

which means if they are members they can ask to come to a social

what if the press got hold of this information?

hi I personally think it would be a gr8 idea might no be there every month but get to a few, had a gr8 time the other night and was gd to put faces to names ...

As for discretion and the press when do you ever see violate, rebound or the after eight club or any other venues which maybe sex orientated in the papers we all have the choice wether to go and you wouldnt need to go to them all ...

great idea in theory... but not in reality if everyone knows where the venue is... plus can we all afford it every month on top of all the other socials?? would maybe get a bit boring after a while?? just my opinion lol

For information there were 2 fetish clubs hounded by the press which had to close...a swing club originally in edinburgh had to move premises...after her being all over the papers..why do you think there arent as many clubs up here....and a little discretion isnt too much to ask.

I personally dont think you would get a good volume of folks doing it every month.....i think after a cpl of months the volume of people attending would go down. But thats just a personal opinion.

I also like attending socials in different districts and venues as it makes it exciting, discrete and each social is very different.

I dont want to put a damper on your thoughts but maybe if you do decide to do this then do it with bigger intervals inbetween.

i agree with jo on this....first cpl of months perhaps but after that will be like everything else and numbers will drop....also think u will probably get the same group of people going to each one ie ppl closer to glasgow which isnt ideal plus there are so many other socials its unfeasable to think ppl will go to them all.

In spite of Lustys obvious enthusiasm (lol!) I have to agree with some of the points raised. Maybe once a month is too often to keep interest going, however, having tried to get onto the social for July and finding it already full with a waiting list it would be good to have something more regular to attend. There are still other socials around the country and a bit of liaison to make sure they didnt coincide would be sensible.

As newbies we found it a great way to meet lots of people quickly that we want to arrange meets with.

I dont think discretion would be a major problem if it was done in the very efficient way that Andy did this time, names on a list at door with a password worked well. Perhaps only verified people should be allowed to attend? Just a thought.

I actually live just over an hour away from glasgow and usually try to attend most of them (when i was on another site) but these were only held once every few months which I think is better...I don't think every monthwould be a good idea.

Ps I don't drink and drive so doesn't bother me driving...those this weekend had two socials in glasgow and was working the saturday and sunday and had only 9 hours sleep all weekend :S

Well, of course, you do see them in the press from time to time and as someone above has pointed out quite a few fetish clubs have been forced to close or relocate following adverse press comment.

All it would take is a particularly slow news weekend and NotW would come up with an 'expose' (purely in the public interest, you understand).

My slant on this is that there are loads of socails as it is and the expense for some is an awful lot. I agree with a lot of points already on this post.

Discretion is an absolute must and having it in the same place all the time I am not sure about that either lol.

The socials are well advertised on the forums by the organisers and if people are too slow in looking to put there names down well thats unfortunate.

As a cpl with very limited weekends off due to work commitments we would struggle to have any fun at all.

Good luck with it though, whatever is decided.
