Lol got to laugh struggling in a league below your team is in turnmoil the 2 biggest assets you've had mcCoist and Smith are totally disillusioned with what's happening within in the club and have walked away your current first team coach is only there because he was a decent football

Coach and not a player and hasn't made as much money and has bills to pay your assets are going up to cover a loan next week which the fans were promised would never happen and you don't think this is affecting the current first team squad be realistic folks if I were a fan I think the last thing on my mind would be the old firm game id be hoping we could at least survive before anything else

Old Firm - No - surely not! Isn't one side of this debate insisting that they are a new firm - albeit with an unbroken history?

Come on - You've got to laugh - Some really decent people - 2 former managers to start, then parasites and carpetbaggers looking to exploit people and the usual lunatics shouting from the touchline / sideline / byline.

No time for bigotry - no time for exploitation - the last few years have seen Rangers - and their various pseudonyms, unearth more slaters / creepers than my log pile.

I really do hope that they can purge themselves, get rid of the opportunists and be worthy of the affection that befits a major football club.

I cant see it being as big a gubbing as 8 or 9 nil....however i think theres a real risk of embarrassment for Rangers

Will be interesting to see how the players of both sides handle an atmosphere that the vast majority of them are doing so for the first time...especially when the stadium of fans will be more up for it than they have been for a very very long time.

Sorry to see Lanarkshire Lass is one of them, I shall never be able to perv over her again ! But other than that she is talking a lot of sense.

Far too many Celtic fans are thinking this will be a stroll in the park, FFS Morton knocked us out last year,and if anything we are a poorer side this season. I would be more than happy with a one nil win.

Cant wait for the game though and glad we managed to get a couple of tickets

Correct this is an open forum for people to discuss what they like however we are in a "Swinging site" where most folks are interested in chatting about swinging rather than football

The Old Firm is a very emotive and explosive topic that always brings forums down as these threads usually end up being closed by Admin as insults and general bad feelings are aired.

I don't normally get embroiled in discussion regarding Scottish Football as there is a lot of ill will no matter who you support.

Supporters of both teams have their own agendas and yes I predict this thread will spiral out of control and admin will be called to close it

I've got the fear for the game I must admit, genuinely worried it'll be worse than 7-1.

I do look forward to the faux outrage from the same people who make villains of football fans whilst ignoring that there were more arrests at a Take that Concert in Glasgow than almost every Old Firm game in recent memory.

Can't wait for the game now, just a week before we fly up. Whatever happens at the match we always have a great time in Glasgow anyway.

Other than a total gubbing, which I don't think will happen, Rangers have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

As a Celtic fan I would take a 1-0 win right now . Those among our support who are predicting another 'Hampden in the sun' type result would do well to remember who knocked us out of this competition last season.

My mate who is a season ticket holder for the club I don't mention says there no great shakes this season but even then I don't see anything other than a win for them!

Current form both teams are performing well below par.

Celtic should be well out in front of SPL at the moment but are underperforming

The difference here is many Rangers fans still expect their side to be able to compete at SPL level even accounting for the off field turmoils.

Since Rangers went under ALL the decent playing staff left. Those that stayed were not good enough to get a regular start.

The comeback until now has been quite easy down to the fact over the hill or mediocre SPL players were available

on Bosman deals.

If I could walk into the managers position right now there are a number of regular players that would be shown the door as they are not good enough to play at Championship level never mind SPL.

Celtic haven't exactly showered themselves with great signings either in this period yet the lack of serious competition keeps them winning titles.

Always said this would be a long trip back to the top and this season would be the biggest test.

Removing McCoist was not the answer, it was him that kept the dressing room morale up when all around was collapsing. He was given a remit and to date that is still achievable.

The actual match itself will go one of two ways.

Celtic will produce the biggest defeat they have ever hit Rangers with, or Rangers will revert to a 5-4-1 scenario like they did under Walter Smith and hold out for a draw, extra time and penalty kick shoot out.

As a lifelong Rangers fan I live in hope of the latter

Now you lie down in a dark room and take some deep breaths.....but I'll tell you what I'll do...I'll contact all the peeps I referred to in earlier post and inform them that they are all wrong because you have said so...

But I'll tell you what I'll do and what I done before...I'll offer you a wager for charity , say £100 that at the end of this season and start of next season, all regulated football bodies...(now that's the people in charge of footy )i.e. SPFL...SFA...UEFA...all recognise Rangers as same club, I'll not bother Lord Nimmo. I don't think I'm qualified to challenge him.

Now that may be done sooner if RANGERS WIN THE LEAGUE CUP (doubt it though) but if your so sure, so confident, then its an easy bet for you, isn't it??
