Christmas memories!

Christmas for some brings back memories of times gone past!

For me I got engaged to my childhood sweetheart 17 years ago tonight!

Basically I couldn't really think of anything to get her as a present so bought an engagement ring!

We had been together from school and I thought it was the right thing to do at the time, expecting a long engagement! Wrong!

Married 18 months later!

Don't get me wrong I would never change it and although we are now divorced and don't get on we did have two great kids together!

Point being there is no point in having regrets life is for living

Miss the good times with family, all your aunts & uncles, cousins etc crazy stories about what random shit they did when younger! Same stories every Christmas but still made you laugh . But then you grow up, move on & create your own kind of Christmas.

I do enjoy Christmas & New Year but its also a time that makes me sad, miss the people gone from my life just that little bit more over this week. Suppose we should just be grateful & thankful for the people around us as you never know what tomorrow holds xxx

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

One of my childhood memories was of me and my big brother on Christmas night playing his subbuteo game and me not being very happy cause he got a football strip and i didn't so he went and got me one of his old ones to wear so we could play the game that madee happy lol.. Miss him so much tho .

But it's true altho this time of year is a time for reflection it's also a time to be grateful for a lot of stuff too and a time to look forward and not look back with too many regrets xxx

I remember christmas dinner going wrong one year lol,it was a big gathering at mums and with a massive turkey cooked and cooling on top of the worktop our dog who was in the hall while we were in the living room made it into the kitchen and managed to reach up and knock the turkey down.

With the noise in the living room we were all oblivious to what had happened until someone went to the toilet,to cut a long story short the dog wolfed down as much turkey as it could you know what dogs are like.

The turkey what was left of it was ruined so it was stuffing and veg etc for Xmas..the dog must have laid next to the radiator bloated about 4 times his normal size and just farted for the rest of the evening lol

I don't have many Christmas memories... but I usually wake up with a lot of empty wine bottles around the house!

When I was wee I used to get so excited on Christmas day that after opening presents, I spent all day on the sofa feeling sick.

One funny memory was the family at Grans place for Xmas lunch. All seated at the table tucking in to her excellent cooking. A table full of food. Chatter and conversation so intense no one noticed my younger brother. He had fallen asleep at the table, face buried in his place. Blowing bubbles in the gravy each time he exhaled !

Poor sod nearly drowned

My dad and his best friend turning up to dinner at my grans about 10 yes ago. Both of them really d*unk but in fine spirits. They wanted to go back to the pub at night so I walked them both round holding them up lol. Both over 6ft. Makes me smile now. However sad realisation they are both gone now. Sure they are both having a good drink together in the pub in the sky though

"Best ones are when we were all a big family and the house was bustling with laughter etc......."

And you arranged with your neighbours to eat at different times so you could lend each other spare chairs.

I remember I used to get thundercats, he-man and ninja turtle toys. Now all I get is pants and socks.

Being a grown up sucks ass
