Has his resignation been accepted?

It's a 12 month compensation package they need to agree to so it could be rejected.

He's a major (not majority) shareholder so he could get the backing of the board.

Not my club so it doesn't bother me either way.

McCoist is and always will be a Rangers legend! I for one will be eternally grateful for everything he has done for my club over the years!

I do agree that as a manager he had issues but let's face it even the special one would struggle to get Rangers performing!

He will always be super Ally to me! Another sad day for my club

He's had the job that no other manager in Britain would want with all the back hand dealings and money troubles. That being said the team he has should have easily won the league and that can only be attributed to poor management.

I feel sorry for the guy, and im a celtic fan. Managing Rangers over the last few years was and has been 1 of the most difficult jobs in History.

Motivating a team for games when the future of the club has been in the balance for a few years now must of been a nightmare task.

Wish the best for the guy and I hope he is able to take some time out and relax for a change.

Im not a fan of football but Ally McCoist did seem a professional man as well as one with some integrity. He stood by his club when things were falling apart and must have been an inspiration to many. Perhaps it IS time he left - I don't pretend to know one way or the other - but let him walk with head held high and depart with dignity - he deserves that much and more.

I'm a Celtic man through and through but it never ceases to amaze me the number of fellow Celtic fans who are fixated with the trials and tribulations of the Tribute Act. McCoist as a player was a Rangers (RIP) legend but as a manager he was about as much use as tits on a trout. Wee note of caution to my fellow tims...when we have the Norwegian Tony Mowbray managing us it's not really advisable to be throwing stones at out less fortunate neighbours from Edminston Drive

Really don't understand all these Celtic fans that are saying Rangers are dead, they are clearly not, it's the exact same club at the end of the day.

Anyways in relation to the topic, the Rangers board have rejected his resignation so Ally is staying on.

Alistair McCoist has not left anywhere

He has rendered his resignation which will not be accepted because to do that the fat cars have to dip into their pocket and pay him

Alistair will work out his 12 month notice and walk away with dignity

His record as a player is undisputed

His record as a manager depends in who you talk to

Celtic fans.... doesn't matter who the

Manager at Inrox is the Celtic support will still treat him with same contempt

Rangers fans,,,,,,,This is where it becomes a bit more cloudy. Job remit .....get us back into the SPL what has done about that ONE request. Rangers are still on course to gain promotion to the SPL at the end of the season and Ally has fulfilled his obligation to the Board

It's the 17,000+ so called knuckle dragging bigoted blue tinted glasses

Supporters who have stayed away since Mike Ashley and the Easdales took over

You cannot run any business without income and the main income of a football team is what is paid at the gates every game. Something that is lacking this season at Ibrox

Always said this was going to be a difficult season what with the two Edinburgh teams in there especially since Hearts have finally for their act together

Saying that it's only 9 points and we are not quite half way through the season. The Jambos will drop points that is guaranteed

No Ally McCoist will be there at the end of the season when Rangers are promoted back to the top flight then we will see what happens with his letter I resignation especially if Ashley sells The Toon Army and buys out Rangers completely

Bit suprised not a good sign. Jumping a sinking ship mabe. I'm a massive Celtic fan. Would like to see a great game on the 1 st of Feb. Your club suffered through the greed of money.no other reason . Blame the directors n players who bleed your club dry. If my club suffered like that. I'd hire a hitman and bump them off.

Why gloat the team from the other side of Glasgow are just as bad if not worse and Scottish Football is piss poor and that's a fact.

Good too see some people on here who support the other side behaving like adults and not idiots.

It just shows you what sort of sad folk are on here by how they conduct themselves in forum postings.

Anyway I thought this site was about meeting people and having fun, not what football team you support by posting nonsense and acting like children grow up.

That is just fan rivalry and of course the David Murray quote was always going to come back to haunt Murray, even Fergus got booed by Celtic fans on the day he unfurled the title flag so fans are just fickle.

Most Celtic fans I know want Rangers back in the top flight (although that may not happen this year) as they are losing interest going to see them play St Mirren etc and attendances are falling.

Only my opinion of course,Rangers have become a side show with so much turmoil going on at the club....it will take a long long time to get back but supporting a team is a life long journey

The City

Legal experts, tax experts, advertising standards experts, charity experts and most importantly experts in all things Rangers.

I hear laptops are the top presents asked for by Celtic supporting kids this year. It will let them go online and find oit even more about Rangers.

Obsession for Bhoys. They don't half get themselves worked up about a club they say are dead or are a tribute act.

Sad fact is only one team in Scotland that will fill the Stadio Del Alki.

There were another 2 last month Sevco and The Rangers...started by Celtic fans yet I have yet to see a Celtic trolling thread started by a Rangers fans.

It only seems to be in the Scottish forum you get this and I also must say that not all Celtic fans are out to troll there have been plenty who have posted and although they enjoy the rivalry they do not stoop to the behaviour that some have indulged in.

So I make a decision not to renew my season ticket based on what I perceived is total mismanagement of my club after the last few years....I pay at gate at every home game I attend ....and you call me a bigot????

People have a choice to make one way or another, and you don't have the devine right to call any person a bigot because they choose different from you!!!

How foooking dare you, what right have you got to call me that....

In that same breath are you advocating the 15000 Celtic fans who have stopped going to Parkhead in last few years are also bigots????... I don't think so.
