Scottish Chat Room

Hi all, this is just an observation, and certainly not a dig. Went in the chat room few weeks ago, 28 folk. Out of that, 23 single guys, 3 couples, 2 females. Went in tonight, 13 folk. 10 single guys, 2 females and 1 couple.

Can remember when you sometimes couldn't get in, and was always a great mix of people.

So, has the chat room become mainly for single guys? Is that putting couples off?

Like I {Mr) have said, used to be a great mix, with good laughs.

Or, are there other reasons its basically dying a slow death

more north lincs than mids!

On an evening there is a great mix of couples, single fems and single males. I think it depends on what time, what day, real life etc.

I'm guilty of not going in chat for ages but will have a visit tomorrow when I feel human again....

I just block anyone that acts like a numpty so no real problems with it

Its also the fact of the actual number of folk that go in now. Compared to say a year ago, the numbers are reducing rapidly, must be some reason

No one was acting badly, just as I said, incredibly quiet, and a huge imbalance

Yeah I know what you mean I think it used to have a lot more folks going in but the numbers have really dwindled in the last year

went into chat for the first time last week. its chaotic so many different conversations going on and so fast. hard to keep up with what you where talking about. really neds to be a better set up in it

Visited the chat rooms 2 or 3 times when I first joined here, but quickly gave up. Absolutely manic, it all moved so quickly couldn't understand how anybody could have a sensible conversation. Never been back since.

The actual set up they use isn't great. If you are not watching constantly it's seriously difficult to keep up. The usual clutter of "BRB" and "Hi so and so" doesn't help. You can still have a good laugh in there though.

same for us... what spoils it are the directors, they really put folk off and overtake chat sometimes, also those who expect sex etc to be the 'topic' at ALL times

Unfortunately your absolutely right the mix is out of kilter. This is symptomatic of all chat rooms. I guess is a tough one for the site owners as a lot of income can be from single males which may be contary to what the majority of couples seek.

Not at all, Mornings are very good in chat and some real friendly people. You get groups of people who prefer chat and groups who simply prefer the forum and don't chat

Both the Chat room and more particularly the Forum have "Cliche's" and sometimes you feel pressured to be with "the in crowd", but you will find there are very nice people in both once you get to know them and in particular you will gat a wide range of people in the Scottish chat room.

Don't give up on it if the time you tried it was a bad time as most mid week mornings are fun for all and a great mixture of females, males, couples and all

You just need to pick the correct time

I used to be a regular in chat but the last few years it seems like there is no fun atmosphere. It could be a great laugh and I made many friends.

The dynamic seems to have changed and so have the manners of some.

Let's get chat back to being great fun

As a new guy, :p

I noticed it is quite for a chat room and it is hard to get started into a conversation. If a few people have left and they where the main chatters that could kill the room for a bit.. all we have to do is carry on and welcome people when they turn up. Over the last few weeks I have had some good laughs and then there are days when no-one seems to be interested, like they just gone onto the chat to wait for people showing up.

Well there we go.. that's my 2 cents.

The whole site has changed not just scotland chat.....to many folk settle for what are percieved the lords n ladys of fabs way of doing and points of _iew being right the forums is the perfect example so much diffrent from how it once was

The chat room used to be a buzz of activity.

The entire format tends to put people off.

If you don't use it on a regular basis you tend to lose your way and not just keeping up with the chat but as stayed before the clique ignore you

The Chat room has always had its own wee clique and unless you were in the IN crowd it was difficult to use

I went in a couple of times I the past month and apart from not knowing anyone trying to join in an already established conversation was nigh in impossible

Saying that, 6 of you standing in a pub having a conversation and a complete stranger butts in and tries to add to the group.

You tell him to fcku off don't you

Same with the chat room

I used to enjoy chatting on cam in the chat room but haven't used it for years. It was just a case of the novelty wearing off rather than the room going downhill. It's possibly changed since then though.

Not at all, Mornings are very good in chat and some real friendly people. You get groups of people who prefer chat and groups who simply prefer the forum and don't chat

Weekend nights used to be 40+ regulary. Maybe mornings are great, but as we are at work, that's not really convenient. Anyway, was just an observation, may check it out again in a few months

Most mornings there are between 20 - 40+ in Scotland room, last weekend there were 80+

I prefer between 20 - 40 as easier to chat but as all should be aware you also have PM for direct one to one chat

Sone very nice people in chat room and you have better more direct chat than you can have on forum or sending tit for tat Mail

I guess you have simply picked wrong time of month

as you have said yourself you will check again in couple of months

When did I say single guys were ruining it? I said there was a large inbalance.and some have agreed with that. We have had some good chats and laughs with single guys, and indeed met some, so yes there are some decent ones out there,never said there wasn't
