On guys and girls, do you love them or hate them?

I'm pretty heavily tattooed and find them attractive on both guys and girls

If there not jail/old/scratcher tattoos I love them depending on the style and efforts the artist and person has put into them. hate how generic it's became to have tattoos and percings etc.

yeah tribal/and other flash sheet stencils just shows you didn't care what went on your skin. I like some of the polka trash tattoos and some of the dot work and 3d one's look amazing.

There's some really talented artists starting to make a name for themselves in central Scotland now, nice to see more styles becoming popular

Age dependant of course but there was a time that flash tats and tribal where the only real choice you had . Also the opportunity to research and source artists wasnt anywhere near available as it is now .

I have a couple done at 18 that i would cover in a heartbeat . Not because they dont mean something but the quality of work nowadays is far superior.

I have a rob richardson piece and its in a different league to my other tattoos .

Its nice to see ink being far more accepted in modern society as well .

I didnt used to be a tattoo fan, but as has been mentioned, the choices were fairly limited. But the industry has exploded now, the artwork is breathtaking, sleeves are hot, the pieces so unique and personal they are amazing. Still dont have any myself, never found one Ive wanted badly enough that ive had to have it for keeps, but never say never.

I love tattoos on others - if they're well done. It adds to them as a person and I love hearing the story behind each one

Everyone has their own styles and choices and that's what its all about.

I have one of my daughters name bottom of my neck done in Singapore when I worked there .research research research is the key ! I shouldn't have worried the guy knew exactly (obviously) what I wanted and 22 years later when I'm in that area of the world people ask who ****** is . So a job well done I think ....btw I need to get round to having it recoloured . I'm a bit of a sun lover ..thought about getting more .i would actually love more but at 40 odd is it to much too late???? Serious question! I will put it out there

I know some say there is no pain but its the thought of pain that puts me off

many females now have tattoo's and some lovely ones but they must be brave souls as I couldn't face the needle to get one, ouch.

I've been thinking of getting a tattoo for years. I've done okenty of research on it but find it very difficult to choose the right person to do it. Any suggestions?

Oh and I didn't realise there was an age limit on getting a tattoo.

Deffinately no age limit, didnt get my first till I was in my 40's. decide what you want and where then find a good tattoo artist and discuss with him. A couple of great artists in Ayrshire but expect a sizeable waiting list though. Good luck

What I want and where I want it isn't the issue. It's finding the artist that's hard. I don't mind waiting for the right one though.

For those who want one but are scared of the pain. Go to a shop that sells the violet wand and ask for a demo. It is really no more painful than the wand on a medium (ish) setting.

I have one but am considering another two just need time to get it done!

I have two American Indians on back of my shoulders and two others just below my knee.. Indians done 30 odd years ago by Mike Haslam in Carlisle. One of the top artists of his day. the colours are still great even after all these years.

It's an expensive hobby now I think. Would never have sleeves done but maybe get my leg finished off .
