The new proposed laws which make it an offence to publish sexual images without the persons consent should worry a lot of the "couples" on here where the male posts his wifes pics without her knowledge. And to the guys who want to share g/f pics. I wonder if there will be any prosecutions lol

What's the law on hacking into someone's account on here/Facebook and changing details saying they are a sex worker and things like that?

It'll be interesting to see if either half of a couple with pics online 'decide' they didn't give consent in advance and try to have their other half jailed.

Some BBC thoughts on revenge porn.

"Thousands of people have had sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves published on the internet without their consent. So why have only a small number of revenge porn perpetrators been prosecuted, and how is the law catching up with them?"

Its against the law, the clue is in the word hacking ..... if its not yours you shouldn't be in it. And the long answer if your interested :

Hacking of Computers

The hacking of computers is a crime it is a serious offence when certain government databases may be hacked or private companies are hacked for the purposes of fraud.

The Computer Misuse Act 1990

The Computer Misuse Act was first introduced in August 1990 following a Law Commission report surrounding computer misuse and pressure being forced on the government from certain large corporations.

One of the main reasons for the pressure to get the act introduced was that the UK was trailing behind many European Union Member States in relation to technological development.

What offences were first introduced by the Computer Misuse Act?

The Computer Misuse Act introduced the following three new offences into UK criminal law:

Unauthorised access to computer material

Unauthorised access with intent to commit a further offence

Unauthorised modification

Courts are getting clogged up as the fiscals are putting everyone through the system now. Even tiny quantities (under 0.5g) of a certain herbal material with still get you a date in court.

Not sure how the computer guys can monitor revenge porn unless a complaint is made but it will be investigated if there is a named complainer.
