Fuel costs :-(

well just filled up my car with diesel, £80.01 but I should get about 600 miles out of it so can't complain too much, that's the trip to Stirling then Blackpool next weekend covered

Saying that when I first past my test petrol was only 29p per litre

60 to fill up my Mable with petrol. Worth every penny to be able to just get up and go wherever we want. I couldn't go back to buses and trains x

My worst mpg figures were, 6 miles to the gallon and that was taking it easy.lol A 1971 mustang 390gt.

Old and drive a deisel now

Anyone notice the price of fuel coming down? Which usually means that it rises at a greater rate in the next month or so

my usual mode of transport varies between 4.5 and 9.6 mpg,mind you it is a 12 litre v8 scania topline

Used to go to France once a fortnight and seal the tanks when I lived down south - used to hold 1300 litres!! Was cheaper to go on leshuttle to France and back than fill up here

Trucks might be different but there have been various tests done over the years, comparing cars running on supermarket fuel with the main fuel companies.

The conclusions have always been the same, that although the main companies' fuel might give marginally better mpg, when you factor in the price there's little difference in the overall cost.

And although some individuals claim that their car runs better on mainstream fuel, most people don't notice any difference.

I'm twenty to thirty quid a month maybe less I tend to just park the car & go on a train or bus I'm not the most confidential driver

We don't really pay a whole lot of attention to where we fill up, usually Sainsburys as its on our way home from Stirling and I get points.

Slight difference in the amount of fuel in your tank before you filled up would be the logical explanation.

It could be the temperature of the fuel some sites have a function that keeps it Level and others don't. .

I drive a US pick up and it's gallons to the mile. Had a trans am and it was 8 to the gallon.

Wouldn't change it's for the world. Small price to pay for not driving something generic - with a huge back seat - open to offers

Truckers amongst us will know certain hills, coming out if Inverness springs to mind, where your wagon will drop to 1 mpg easy.

Fuel is still extortionate but it's dropped a fair bit in the central belt over past few months.

remember putting a gallon of 2star in my Suzuki AP50 for 50pence at a National station in town which you could use yourself late at night.

Yes 50p for 4.5 litres

All the fuel comes from same place grangemouth. The refinery is owned by ineos not bp it used to be bp years ago. I work there
