Party theme

I like to have a theme for my parties as I think it helps break the ice and also I can tell any inquisitive neighbours that I'm having a fancy dress party. For my next party I was thinking about a burlesque theme after watching last nights documentary but am a little worried that the cost for corsets etc might be prohibitive for some! Any alternative suggestions? Or do you agree that would be a fun theme?

Burlesque theme will be a hit, I'm sure. So many ways to dress up and not always needing corsets either. They do look and feel amazing tho lol

Go for it you don't need a corset to look burlesque.

You'd really suit a red one with fishnets

Under the sea/Disney/videogame/zombie/childhood memories. That's my input for this thread. Hope its a good perty and Btw Amazon/Ebay/CorsetsUK have a good selection of burlesque type clothing that don't break the bank.

Don't know about under the sea! I think the crabs would put me off! Ok, it's between James Bond and burlesque, with burlesque edging it! No too sure what the men would wear though?

My last party was themed Moulin Rouge and the guys wore a lot of capes, top hats, twirly moustaches, jazzy waistcoats etc. A couple took the corset option for fun and a couple came as circus performers. One came as a gendarme and raided us! I had a pair of huge black and red sparkly butterfly wings with my outfit and it wasn't till party night I discovered I couldn't fit in the vestibule to open the front door they were so wide!
