Koh Lanta

For those who like great live music, 2 of my favourite bands/performers are hitting Scotland in the next couple of months, with Mad Dog McRea playing The Mash House in Edinburgh on November 15th, (I know, it clashes with the Torture Garden November ball), and Chantel McGregor, playing Nice & Sleazy in Glasgow on Dec 13th and The Caves in Edinburgh on Dec 14th.

Mad Dog McRea are a brilliant folk rock band that always has everybody tapping their feet and dancing a jig while you only have to watch & listen to Chantel McGregor, (twice winner of best guitar at the British Blues Awards), blast her way through one of her amazing guitar solos to see why even at her young age she's being compared to Hendrix & Clapton by people in the know – Sheer guitar porn as I describe it – just check out the guitar solo in the middle of her version of Redhouse on You Tube and you’ll see what I mean.

If anybody can make it, (with to me seeing both being well worth any effort), I’ll be at The Mash House to watch and jig along to Mad Dog, (as a prelude to Torture Garden), and The Caves to watch Chantel, feel free to say hi, you can’t miss me, not many guys my age have hair as long as mine

I'm in Nottingham for a gig on the November date but I might make the December one. Have tickets for Toby Jepson on the 10th but might manage a wee sneaky extra gig Checked out the youtube vids - like it.

Yep, with a bit of practice Chantel will make a decent guitar player won't she

What makes it worse, she makes it look so easy

Don't forget to say Hi if you make it Vixen X

Of course! I've put it in the diary and I'll see whether I can get up to it.
