I was on a late bus home last night from a truly wonderful gig experience (one of my best ever) & I hated every minute. A mob taking up most of the upstairs of the bus were singing sectarian songs, playing the whistle, stamping the floor & banging the windows the entire journey. Also a few decided it was ok to light up as well, one sitting right next to me.

Now I'm not a prude or stuck up or anything but I found myself getting quite angry & felt ashamed as a result of their behaviour.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to get it off my chest.

Sadly, there will always be a place for hatred of others. It is the way it is but I am thankful it will be the smallest minority in this fine country.

We'll never rid ourselves of neds unfortunately. Something about public transport seems to bring out the worst in them.

Late buses are the worst for that, alcohol doesn't help! Think yourself lucky, some girl decided to throw up on herself and sit like that for 5-10 minutes before someone said something to her... Stench was horrific!

I tend to take taxis home now, only costs an extra 5er and less chance of me trying to hit someone

I think the transport company has a duty to remove these people though. I'm sure many wouldn't mind if the bus pulled in at a stop to meet up with a police car if they could radio ahead

If society keeps letting them get away with it, it becomes the norm. Embarrassing really

see i thought they were all fitted with radios/panic buttons to alert the company/police if folk were out of hand or abusive

There will always be a small minority who ruin the good name of Glasgow and Scotland.

Imagine you had been a tourist on that bus! What experience would you go home and tell friends and family about?

I'm with you mate, things like that make me ashamed.

Much has been written about the issues surrounding grooming and worse by certain sections of the community and the unwillingness of politicians to condemn such behaviour for fear of losing votes or being accused of political incorrectness.

A similar problem surrounds sectarianism in Scotland.

PS to the OP. Was it a number 2 bus by any chance?
