I watched it last night

its actually quite scary to think how easy it is to find these people yet very little seemed to be done once these people were handed over to the police or outed to the police

Vigalantes setting up honey traps is a very dangerous road to start down next thing you know lynch mobs are fine if anything these folk should be charged they aint law enforcement officers and have no clue the damage they could be doing to innocents better left to professionals

I watched it today. Shocking what these disgusting people were doing and what's worse the sentence they got xx a 46 year old man sending pics, explicit texts and going to meet what he thought was an 11 year old autistic girl gets no charges THAT'S WRONG

one was questioned released without charge ...........and has since commited suicide leaving behind a wife and daughter job well done trial by tv wins

Well entrapment would not result in a conviction. This guy is smart enough to use techniques that do not set out to target or encourage. He lets the pervs come to him. Thats exactly the same technique the law enforcement agencies use.

The trouble is the police don't like vigilantes. The evidence is not controlled in the same way the courts would like if it were produced from police sources.

That said, I applaud his moral stance and wish him luck outing these vile creatures.

Each & everyone of them that arranged to meet the decoys as they were referred to were under the age of consent which to me each & every one of them should have been found guilty as the evidence was there !!!

What happened after these traps was entirely up to each offender maybe some couldn't live with the shame of being caught out!!!

Someone in power needs to seriously look at how many guys are into this and willing to abuse vunerable children.

The hunter does well in showing how "normal" society has a dark underworld of every day guys fathers sons etc willing to do this to minors.

These "men" need to be seriously dealt with and trial by TV isn't the way forward.

It would be nice to say that the Police service had unlimited resources to trap these men but they don't.

You also have to look at what actually happened. These creatures were lured there because they thought that they were going to meet an underage girl. They didn't actually correspond, communicate or meet an underage girl so conviction may rest on their intent rather than what actually happened.

It's all very well saying that it was a job well done and I tend to agree but sometimes the risks to both parties can be quite great.

When those guys walk through the door expecting an underage girl only to be confronted by guys with cameras there can only be two options - fight or flight. All the guys in the film chose flight but that is not to say the next one caught might not be carrying a weapon.

Consider this scenario as this is why it should be a Police led operation.

Your mates pinch your phone for a laugh. Start going onto dodgy websites and set up a date with a supposidly underage girl. They then tell you that they have set you up on a blind date and give you the address and when you get there you are met by vigilantes.

Text messages are not proof alone as you don't know the origin of them. Phone calls are different as they can be analysed for voice patterns.

In fact there was a case recently where a disgruntled female employee set up her boss's wife to be raped.

She went onto a website and pretended to be her boss's wife and wanted to have a rape fantasy.

A guy responded and went to the house expecting to act out the rape fantasy but luckily realised early on that they had both been set up.

Police were called in and ex-employee got 3 years.

Yea i read about that bob, I also remember a story from 3 or 4 years ago about a guy who was passed over for promotion that tried to load indecent images onto the computer of the colleague who got the job, luckily he was caught.

There's a legal process for a reason and time would be better spent making sure this was fit for purpose.

Go down the vigilante route and its a slippery slope towards mob rule.

This is a really emotive subject and it needs the emotion stripped out of finding the solution. Which is easier said and done.

I found the programme deeply disturbing and left it at the point where the 44 year old man turned up to meet an 11 year old autistic girl bearing a bottle of wine. Any clearer indication of his intent was unnecessary.

Whilst I'm tempted to think any method at all employed to catch these people is fair game I want to see it handled by the proper authorities and see the police funded adequately to carry it out.

The families of guilty individuals are being made to suffer by the public outing on Facebook and I can't condone that in any way. They deserve protection too.

A think the U.N. needs to agree on an age of consent for the whole planet because right now in this country or any other it means fuck all, here the age is 16 in America it's different age's for different areas 16-18, in Spain it's 13, & in country's like India & Pakistan as long as they get married it can be as young as 6. & then there's Japan holy shit I don't even think I have time to go into that but I know they have instead of drink machines it's machines that sell used little girl panties WTF!!! One of the reasons some of these people are not given jail sentences right away is that you end up with them meeting. Other paedophiles and gaining experience and contacts through them it's sometimes better to have them on a register being monitered and scaring them into stopping it can happen but only if very young and immature themselves I work with victims and perpetrators alike and it changes your whole outlook on life and how you bring up your own children

Actually I have some legal training and the scenario above could be used by a defence lawyer to argue that the case has not been proved "beyond a reasonable doubt) by the defendent if the meeting had been set up by text messages alone. Nothing to do with me having a sick mind but something to do with the people I have to deal with professionally.
