Nature of the beast i'm afraid.

As some have said happens to us all at some point.

It's how you deal with it that matters.

Brush yourself down and think of the person's bad point eg she had fat legs or horse breathe always helps lol

I've certainly become much more wary and cynical thanks to my friendship and trust being abused.

Yes I think you can but same as everything it takes time to know the person & it has to be earned. Although I am too much of a trusting person.

I look after my own affairs, want zero involvement in other people's and want no one in mine.

So... No, not for me and that is not aimed in anyway at people. Years on here, you learn.

Actually that should read years in swinging not years on here as it has nothing to do with the site.

No trust nobody then you will never be disappointed ... keep your swinging affairs and your private affairs completely separate x

Total agreement here.

Have been in and around the swinging/adult sex scene to realise it is as stated further up a life of "fantasy"

People invent alternate egos within this scene and it can protrude into their vanilla life too

Trust your own instinct

Sometimes you trust people initially as they have no reason to lie to you. But they also say trust is earnt not given.

So what do people think? Assume they are lying and then you are not disappointed but it's a glass half empty.

Or do you trust then feel the hurt when you realise that person hasn't been as honest as you. Glass half full.

of course there is the version where it all goes right.

So a general question to all. In a lifestyle like this do you be honest or selective with the truth....?

Honesty is the best policy.

The saying "I'd rather be hurt by the truth than comforted with a lie" is so true!

The hardest things is dealing with your own foolishness...thinking that something is real when it's actually not

So take it people are honest and then wither accept it will go right or not?

I still end up feel a fool when it all goes wrong and been Honest in return.

Inevitably it goes wrong (which seems to happen ).

I often wonder how people jump from dating one person to another when I don't meet people that I would want to date.

If it's too good to be true (seeming a great thing) then is it normally wise to not even go there?

Just sometimes wonder

Trust on here is something to be given and gained. Its a bit like respect, if you respect someone and are given respect back then there is automatic trust in that person to not lie to you.

But this should be earned, to meany times i here people saying got to go before partner finds out i am here. No respect for partner, no respect for who your with at the time. Dont trust.
