Sorry folks...it's not a kinky dogging one!

Casa McGinty is heading for major reorganisation and refurbishment so the excess clutter and shmutter has to go! Last time we watched one of those "hoarders" documentaries my son said "Don't know why you're tutting your face off mother... that's you!!!!!" In my defence it's not cardboard city exactly... but tote boxes in a huge variety of colours and sizes (with laminated labels indicating contents) are taking us over. Never done this before so any seasoned professional advice would be greatly welcomed.

What sells well, what should I avoid, how do I begin to think about prices??? Should I do one just for household stuff and another for clothes etc.? Will I survive?????

Best to check out local ones first gets you an idea of prices . Clothes what kind and size's i'll make it an excursion lol

I do one a year at the corn exchange to get shot of all the clutter xx anything sells, especially clothes xx when it comes to prices if I want to sell for £5 I'll ask for £8 and let them think your giving them a deal xx if it's a nice day it's a good laugh xx in this weather tho I'd look for an indoor one in Glasgow or Edinburgh xx

In may I took my stuff to blochairn market in Glasgow made about 200 odd quid took kids toys bedding rooms accessories & clothing & shoes had to be up there for about 4 am but was back home for about 10am always ask for a higher price let them cut you down to the price you wanted it to go for they think they got a bargain

Get there early. Don't drop uour prices too early and know what you wsnt to ask for your main items. Don't guess the price in front of the customer.

You may have missed the two main Fife ones now Jinty as I think Crail and Tayport have finished now. I loved Tayport. Check Google to see if others are still going.

We did one a couple of weeks ago at Falkirk Stadium and the stuff I thought would sell didn't, we sold a load of rubbish and made £160! The plot cost £7 and we had to be there for 7am but it was the really busy so well worth it!

Make sure your not selling anything for a fiver,

That the buyer can then go on to sell for considerably more.

Our back bedroom is slowly filling up on the promise of keeping it for an, as yet, unspecified car boot sale, and we definitely have to get rid of some of the guff in there. I'm really worried we end up like these hoarders you see on the tv!

I'm on my way there, I really am. I've shocked myself at the amount of stuff I've collected. I used to pick up a few greeting cards each time I was in a gift shop. I now have a wicker basket with around 200. I have 6 other baskets full of craft materials. I've stopped adding to it all now though.

yeah but all you need to do is set up a profile to join don't need to do the Facebook side just join facebay or you could use the for sale section of gumtree
