The result is too

45% are feeling blue

I can hold my head up high

I was one willing to give it a try

The no campaign, they have won

So Scotland 's future has begun

If you voted aye, at least you were willing to give it a try

If however you voted no, you will have to live with that until you die

We are a nation who sing and dance

About giving independence a chance

When our grandchildren hear such a song

They will ask us what went wrong

In reply, we can only say

The no voters won the day

I can hold my head up high

Even though I want to cry

I've never been one of Westminster's fans

Now Scotland's future is in their hands

We had our vote and our say

Part of the United Kingdom we will stay

History will decide

If the NO badge can be worn with pride

We might never get another chance

If we do get another go

I for one won't vote no

I can look my children in the eye

Knowing my vote was for aye

I've rattled on long enough

But it was important stuff

When we see what our future may hold

Just remember, you were told

History was made and we had our say

But what price will we have to pay
