Like every country England has its good and bad points, i take no more notice of England and/or English people than i do of any other nation.

I would much rather exert my energy on a positive and aspirational future for Scotland whether that is within the UK or as an independent nation

The referendum isn't about hating the English

It's about not wanting the English government run our country

And that IS the whole point!

Well said!

And I'd say you are correct to say "English' as it is so disconnected from what is actually going on in Scotland.

Really? Here's a wee bit of info for you; only 23% of Scots voted SNP at the last election, so the other 75% didn't vote SNP or couldn't be bothered voting at all.

So much for all the 'not getting the government we voted for' rubbish.

It's called "democratic deficit".

It affects both scottish and uk elections.

It's due to the apathy at normal elections. The disconnection between the parties and population.

The rise of the "professional" politician, with no real working background.

Well said. Sick and tired of all this poor wee Scotland bullied by the big bad English!

Since when did we lose our pride in our people to stand up for ourselves in or out!

I live south of the border and I get no say in the future of my own country. AS paints me and all Scots who dare live outside Scotland as economic opportunist and frankly as trators! Has he no regard for our history as a people. Rant over sorry folks but this gets my goat. Again well said.

Tommy Sheridan was brilliant, his ideological _iews were picked apart with numbers etc and he still stick by his guns.

This is not about political parties, we will deal with that later. Brilliant.

Argyll

The problem is London - it is too large and dominant - north of England, Midlands, west country and other areas of England feel pretty much the same about not having enough local power and decision making.

I lived in England for twelve years and have many English, Irish and welsh friends. I'm voting yes because I want a fairer society and that is not possible under the Westminster elitist system, nothing to so with any of the home nations but to do with getting rid of a corrupt political system and taking control of our own affairs. Once we are independent I wish the very best for the rest of the uk.

I have no daubt about your motives it's the fact that the rest of the country will not have Scotland support to change. Without it wishing them well is just that a wish nothing more. That's not enough we need to make the real change not run away from the argument.

And for the same reasons it's time to unite the Celtic people's for real change not run away from the fight
