Along with the questions "Is there a God?" , "Which came 1st the chicken or the egg?", "why do the Israelis and Palestinians hate one another so?" and "What does a baby pigeon look like?" one of life's great mysteries for me is "Why so those clatty fookers from Edinburgh put salt and sauce on their scran from the chippy?". You may have the Castle, the zoo, the military tattoo, Rose Street and Greyfriars Kirk but seriously people when it comes to chippies you're absolute philistines......get a grip!!

My first day in aberdeen and me and my mate had the same conversation.....he said 14 yrs ago when he first came to Edinburgh he was looked at stupid when asking for vinegar!

We were a little worried earlier but soon realised there's vinegar in aberdeen! Haha

I asked for salt n sauce first time I went to a chippy when I lived in Glasgow for a bit.. The look I got off them.. Haha! You westerners are weirdos like, salt and sauce for the win!
