This thread is for all, but it will be very interesting to get the guys perspective in particular. Now I know we all like a laugh and a joke, none more so than myself but I'd appreciate it if this thread was kept serious. Men are often accused of being insensitive, of not having feelings and being callous. To scrutinise that I'll ask: When was the last time you cried and why?

Me? Early hours of Monday morning because I was told something about someone very dear to me who died 35 years ago that gave me a peace of mind that had long eluded me. I was told how proud this person had been of me and would still be. Floodgates opened and I cried unashamedly for an hour.

Most days if I let myself cry for the ones I've lost I would cry all day, it's supposed to cleanse the soul & make u feel better but it never does

E.K . Glasgow

Music trips my emotions , songs from certain times were almost exactly mirroring things that happened in my life . Although i still have my parents Mike and the mechanics living years never fails to start me off heard it last week .

Last night had a little cry.

The truth from the mouth of babes done it to me.

Also music with real meaning has that effect on me too. Only one person has ever given me a song and it means the world to me.

When I watched Billy Crystal talk about his dear friend Robin Williams on the Emmys I had tears in my eyes as it made me think of the ones who I've lost too

.

I don't think there's anything wrong with crying as a guy at all. It's shows we are all human

I know you said it was for the men Ozzie, but why would i start listening to you now?

I used to cry allllll the time.. At least every other day. I can now happily report I've not cried properly since June. Finally put the past back where it belongs and found a bit of peace about it all. Had a wee sad moment last week when it should of been his birthday, but was beyond proud of myself when I didn't cry.

Onwards and upwards!

Theres welling up, crying a wee bit.

But theres also absolutely crying like a bairn, unstoppable crying..red face and out n out sobbing yer heart oot.

I well up at the lone piper at end of edinburgh tattoo..its guaranteed, a yearly event just like the tattoo.lol.

Crying like a bairn? That was years ago,, kinda delayed because only after all the practicalities of taking my dog to the vet and not coming home with him, realising he had hung on to life to say goodbye to his dad (me), loyal as ever. Sat quietly and totally cried, only natural i like to think.

I'm not a man either but last time was just before the camping social when I was feeling threatened and down, guess I just felt sorry for myself

I don't cry often and thank god for my lovely friends who cheered me up and made me realise I was better than all that

If it's full on blubbing then that would have been 30th January 2005.

I'd spent 2 weeks supporting family members and arranging funeral etc

Got in the funeral car and blubbed like a child all the way to the crematorium

Was my mother in laws funeral

Folks let's keep this one serious eh? Can I also take this opportunity to apologise to all the lovely ladies who have responded, I in no way meant your input was to be excluded just that it would be interesting to have the perspective of guys who are normally very guarded about showing emotion or being vulnerable. If I offended you I apologise unreservedly
