Personally I'm voting yes change is need

English Tories dictating and money pinching let us decide for our selfs ............. What you think ???

its not going to make any difference to my life i will still be skint screwed over for tax and pay more in fuel bills than any other country in the world plus we also have the highest tax rate in the world and none of that is going to change.

Also the Scottish government are looking to bring in stricter alcohol laws so soon i won't even be able to enjoy some of my favorite ales and ciders as they deem them to strong

I'm not against minimum pricing per unit of alcohol but its crazy that the extra profit goes to the retailer (Tesco, Spar etc).

Put the money to good causes!

Randm people, who just because they have the yes T-shirt and Yes everything else suddenly feel its ok to put you on the spot and want to know if your voting Yes or else,,oops i mean or not

Even seen the see-saw thing of blaming each other if yes wins and its not the dream and becomes a nightmare, all Yes voters fault, and if it stays the same and that becomes tough going, All the No voters fault

Way i see it is simple.

Half of the time Scotland is governed by the tories who get into power purely on the English vote. When in power they shit on us first as they know there is no risk to their main voters in England.

Only way to stop a tory government is a vote for Independence

YES

And then what? And thats the bit that will get as many no votes, cause all we get is big shouts of Yes with no too much behind it, little assurances or stats that add up.

The whole idea is an Alex Salmond dream thats just gained momentum, was it ALL of scotland that demanded a referendum? No, not even half the country.

I wondered how long it would take you or Onny to spout some of that nonsense. The Home Rule movement started long before Alex Salmond was born. To reduce the dreams and aspirations of millions of Scots to petty jibes about one man is one of the saddest, cheapest and most insulting of the BetterTogether lines.

There are no more cast-iron guarantees from the Unionists about the future than the are from the independence campaign. Because none of them have psychic powers. Apart from all of the Unionist parties promising more austerity and to be tougher than the previous government on the poor.

This vote is not about salmond or about if we are capable of going it alone - only the most rabid unionutter claims we couldn't - it is about deciding whether you want or 5 million voices heard by a government who have many millions more wanting something completely different most of the time or one whose focus is on what's best for those 5 million.

Well, there you go, just 5 million and even thats divided about it all.

Thats a fraction of the total uk population, and magically we can still finance and balance everything by being a smaller independant country ? Nobody will tell me how, bt nae doot some nugget will be along with dross about just be brave n proud and its our time etc, which is lovely, still does'nt explain it though, does it !

My yes vote isn't based on either bravery or pride.

I just prefer the type of Government that offers the likes of free tuition (Labour), free prescriptions (SNP), genuine protection of the NHS (probably all of them), getting rid of Trident (SNP and Green) and being prepared to speak out against Israel's attacks on Gaza.

I'd rather not have a Government that does none of these and instead does things like go to war against Iraq (Labour, with Tory backing) and penalises disabled people for having spare rooms (Conservative, with Labour doing nothing).

In as much as anything is "forever", then yes. And I'm still "yes", probably because of it more than in spite of it. - Why people seem to think the status quo is so great baffles me.

Scotland is culturally, historically and politically different to the rUK - I'm English, I've been here a long time, I've *noticed* how things aren't the same here. And yet England-shaped solutions are applied to Scotland's problems.

The matters that aren't devolved, such as social security, defence etc, are entirely out of kilter with the wishes and experiences of the Scottish people, yet still they persist.

Westminster doesn't take Scotland seriously (the popular caricature is of people on benefits, "taking" from "hardworking (sic) families" - forgetting that we are net contributors to the rUK coffers) and so we influence nothing as part of the UK.

Until a couple of weeks ago, I was a No. But I'd rather be part of a country that reshapes itself into a more fair and cohesive one than one which glosses over divisions and increases inequality.
