I done the ice bucket challenge today and when I watched the video back I was horrified to see myself! I thought, fuck that I need to lose weight!! I looked on amazon for fat burners and read the reviews but I'm still not sure what ones actually work! Has anyone used any that they found were good and worth the money?

Please don't use those pills! They basically work by not binding the fat in your diet. So where does it go? Well it seeps out your arse and you get fatty residue on all your clothes, which you can never get out. They ain't good for you! Just eat more healthy and exercise a bit more. Just need to be a bit more active in shagging haha. xxx

Im always a bit sceptical about these products.

many of them have side effects and are marketed using stats and claims which havent been subjected to any expert scrutiny.

best to rely on a sensible diet and a sustainable exercise regime.

I had something similar about 8 years ago. At the age of 21 I weighed almost 22 stone. Then my friend asked me to be his best man so I decided I wanted to do something about my weight. I opted for slimfast naieve I know but it worked for me. 2 shake and a meal a day. At the time I was working in a hotel living in on split shifts so I had a meal prepared for me on an evening which was nice. In 3 months I crashed down to 15 stone and on medical advice I stopped. It's unhealthy to loose it that quickly. I now hover between 15-17 stone and it seems to suit me well but still wish I could lose a bit more. It was the greatest I had felt health wise for a long time but it's not for everyone. Since then I have tried the pills and the fads. The side affects of most are true. They have either been pointless or you psychologically bonded to them tricking yourself that they are a miracle weight loss drug.

I will happily chat to you about my experiences and offer support and advice but I also agree there is nothing wrong with the way you look now xxx

I know a guy who went on the slim fast and that's all he drank! He done it wrong! Didn't eat anything just drank the shakes! He lost some amount of weight in such a short time but it all went back on as soon as he started eating again!

Exercise will help boost your ability to burn calories

Don't think in terms of weight - measure yourself and think inches/cm

Slow and steady is best

Healthy eating, cut out processed food and rat whole grains particularly pasta, rice and bread

Your calorie intake should reflect the exercise you are doing (very important) there are calculators available online that will guide you

Did I say slow and steady is best?

Shy x

I'm with you. I work my ass off in the gym 5 times a week and I do not eat all the junk I used to. Yet 10 weeks in I'm still fat. If diet pills help a bit then they are worth it. I bought some Acai Berry ones from Holland and Barrett. Will let you know if they help X

If you really want pills to lose weight, go see the doctor. GPs can give you pills that do the same thing as the ones on the net.

But healthy eating, everything in moderation, exercise (try walking everywhere - it's a simple start but it will work if you walk quickly) and perseverance

Good luck, you'll get there, don't give up

They dont work.

Try a slimming group for support (I liked slimming world, but different plans work for different people) and up your exercise, walking is good. You can download the couch to 5k app and get yourself the running bug. Sign up for a race/challenge to give yourself incentive. A little extra stamina has lots of benefits

Fad diets/pulls are pointless, you'll pile on the weight as soon as you stop them normally.

I joined slimming world 7 weeks ago now and I'm very close to losing a stone and a half already. I've never ate more in my life and it is so easy to follow. It really helps you keep on track and make those sensible choices.

I love it so much I want to be a consultant once I'm closer to target

Have you seen the amount of caffeine in them? 600mg a tablet and you are meant to take 2 a day you get 30mg of caffeine per 100ml in a can of red bull. So basically 2 tablets a day is 4 litres of red bull no wonder people lose weight. Girl I know on them couldn't sit down.

Yeah. People seem to be realising the market for it. Got told recently from a restaurant manager that he believes gluten free is bigger market than vegetarian

I echo many of these comments. I tried lecithin/ vitamin pills years ago but feel they just had a placebo effect and it was my exercise regime that worked.

Gluten free? Have you tasted gluten free food? Boak. Coeliac aside I couldn't manage that but severely cutting down bread products, cakes, buns helps.

I've lost a stone this year and have plateaued a wee bit now. That's because I am now very disciplined in what I eat but I also do way more exercise than the average. I run about 25m a week but cycle 80-120 on average.

This isn't feasible for most but if you cut your intake by just 500calories a day and walk five miles a day and 40min swim two or three days a week I guarantee you would be much trimmer in six months. Crash diets/pills/gurus. Forget it the most effective tool is between your ears. Will power and effort to lose one or two lbs a week is much more effective in the long run.

Oh and I probably drink no more than 5 units a week these days too. Booze is the bugger.

When did you try gluten free food? It's definitely improved greatly recently. However it's not a diet as such for weight loss it's a diet for those who suffer from coeliacs disease an autoimmune disease. Most gluten free food has more fat in it to compensate for lack of gluten so tends to be harder to diet when on gluten free. But then depends on how you cut out gluten eating more natural foods aka caveman diet will certainly help.

You do know coeliacs is a lifetime illness that you cannot grow out of. Just because you can tolerate gluten doesn't mean you still don't have coeliacs it's most likely doing a lot of damage to you.

Enough with the Raspeberry Ketone nonsense! Read up on it (reputable sources only!) There is NO evidence that these ketone products have any health benefits at all.

Best thing? Change your diet and get some exercise. Ask any training instructor and they'll tell you, eat less and do more, it's that simple. There isn't really a short cut to sustained, long term weight loss.

I was nearly 18 stone at Christmas and decided to do something about it. Changed my diet completely (Still eat loads but just the right things, cheat day on a Saturday) and hit the gym three times a week and I've dropped to 14st 10 and feel great.

The biggest problem for me was that people kept telling me I 'looked fine' and 'you're tall, you get away with it' when I moaned about my weight and when you keep hearing that, you end up convincing yourself it's actually not that bad. Turning point came when I saw myself in some pics on here and realised they'd just been trying to be kind and really I was genuinely quite a bit over weight!

Tell you what, when friends and people I haven't seen for a while say how good I look and how much slimmer I am, that's far and away the best motivator to keep going and I know I did it through hard work and eating right, not pills and potions.

Ok, how far is it to work from home? If it's a mile, walk it, if it's 2 miles and you get a bus, get off halfway there and halfway home and walk the rest. If you're in a building with a lift, take the stairs instead.

It sounds stupid, but it's a good way to start. You aren't going to be able to go out tomorrow and run 10 miles but start small and you'll be surprised what you can achieve.

If you need something from the shop, don't go to the nearest, walk to the second nearest.

Don't buy loads of junk foods but don't deny yourself everything. A treat once a week isn't the end of the world.

Cut down the alcohol too as it's laden with calories. Switch out sugar for low fat sweetener.

It's simple changes that will help as a start

Try not to eat after 6pm - your metabolism slows right down. Eat a healthy breakfast and lunch as well as dinner but keep it to small portions. If you skip meals the body won't burn the fat as quick - sounds daft but it works

Silly pills etc will not help you lose weight. Only a change in your diet, lifestyle and excerise will help you change your body shape and keep it changed

The only advice I can give is try find ur local slimming world lots if different plans u can still eat (and drink) just a lot more healthier it's all about the life style change! Walking or getting a bike helps also!! But I would agree u look great but u need to feel great I know that I done it for 7 weeks and lost a stone and a half put it back on after my holiday but I know it works and anywae look at some of ur hottest (Jlo Beyoncé Kim kardashion) curves are the thing u just got to love them

Good luck with whatever u choose to do x

"Someone wanna be my exercise buddy? I gotta change my ways! I don't walk anywhere!! I eat shit and drink way to much! I'm not a very motivated person, temptation gets the better of me all the time! But if I new some sort of diet/pill would defo work and I seen the weight coming off then I would be more willing and driven to do it! Right now I just feel the size of a house!

Personally I would stay away from them. Eat healthy food and exercise. Cut out refined sugar and fatty foods. Plenty of protein. Especially after exercising.

If you cut out the crap the weight will fall off you. It's more about eating healthy than doing exercising.

She knows you know. To clarify, I bought gluten free rolls one day by mistake and found that loft insulation would be preferable to stick my filling in... A former colleague is Coeliac and makes up for not being able to drink beer by keeping Bulmers Cider in business.

Alcohol is just empty calories. Try Voddie n slimline tonic it works for Bradley Wiggins ( not sure I'd want to look like a matchstick with the wood shaved off mind )

Can i just that i go through a 4 or 5 month spell where i go to the gym and bring my weight down every year and i use T5s u can google them not for pregnant woman but combine them with water retention pills while u excercise u see dramatic weight loss it's not like somebody said up top those aren't the same as they are flushing the fat out your body which can lead to anal leakage no these basically burn the fat and break it up the water retention means u basically piss out any excess water which is bloating you up while the t5s speed up your metabolism and burn fat when u work out. You MUST excercise to burn the energy these pills give you if you don't and you exceeded the stated amount it WILL cause insomnia not permanent. But yeah this combination always work for me not to forget your supplement shakes aswell and have one big good meal a day

Move more. Eat less. The only way that works properly. Smaller portions, start by going for walks and build up.

Has anyone tried the 'make soup out of it' plan?

Put a lunch of (say) chicken, potatoes and two veg into a blender with a little water and it keep you fuller longer than just eating the solid food?

BJQ69 I done slimming world last year and lost over 2 stone and as sapphire says its easy its more about changing what you eat more fruit and veg

there is this stuff scan bran slimming world is big on and you can get it in Holland and Barrett there like rye biscuits but different grain there not that appetising but if you mush a banana on there ok and you can crush them up and make cakes with them I actually made like a fruit loaf and ginger loaf out of them and they were really nice but it does have a laxative effect apples are good as well because they digest slowly making you feel full for longer

as for pills my mum got these ones from the doctor that helped you can by them in the shops but they are much weaker

green tee is good I got the capsules from Holland and Barrett they are meant to speed up metabolism as for the raspberry ketones there is something in raspberry's that speeds up your metabolism the ketones are just an extraction from this but as someone else said they are not strictly proven

I found swimming the best exercise because you work out more without even realising it in the water and you don't get all sweaty in the water

you can get these exercise foam poles to lie on now for doing sit ups that help tense your mussels as you do them so they have more of an effect my mum uses one at keep fit

as for an exercise buddy wither it be sexercise or just getting to workout in the gym looking across the room at your beautiful face and sexy body

well every man on this site myself included would kill for that job and the privilege of your company

I've heard this too something about how your body or metabolism treats the liquid soup as opposed to the solid food. Only know cause one of my friends mentioned it a few years ago. Dx

Im opposed to saying to people 'you look great' when they feel they do not. Not totally because it may be a psycological issue as opposed to the fact they jus realised they are not the shape they wanna be.

I gave up beer for 3 months, never buy white bread, cut the fat off bacon and lost 3 stone in a year.

Recently I have jist moved 4 miles further from my work, bought a bike to get to work and didnt take a tv.

This week alone I lost just over an inch from my waist without losing weight. Sometimes its not the weight but wha its made of remember, excersize can build muscle as you burn fat.

I wanna hit 16 stone for xxmas.

I was the ultimate couch potato in January, I drove everywhere until a friend asked me to do The Race For Life... I had every intention of walking it but I very quickly got the bug and ran it for two friends of mine who were both fighting the big C. I used to eat the same sized portions as my O/H... Oh how times have changed... Now loving shopping for size 10s! Whoop, whoop!
