the budget

me myself dont think it was all that good back to maggie thatcher yrs again

20 per cent v a t

no rise in child benefit for 3 yrs

at least the beers and fags are ok

and fuel

If anyone remembered the Thatcher years then that would be enough for anyone to never vote for them ever ever again, conservative look after the already wealthy, a reccession hits and you think its Labours fault?

And on a whim, like picking your fav on big brother you think tory might be fun to try,,,wrong!,lol.

Currently they love blaming any and everything on Labour, and guaranteed when they mess up, it will still be Labours fault, the very fact it was a hung parliament means we actually have no faith in any of them.

this wont be to anyones liking probabely but to me its not that bad and i agree with what they have done.

im single and dont get any of their daft benifits so it dosent effect me. work for private company and iv had a wage freeze for 2 years now and wont change. IMO why should public workers be different. good though that they are trying to increase the lower paid.

20% vat. nothing, we have lowest vat in europe basicaly and it was up at that only last year, no one seemed to mind if labour done it!!

if you ask me we need to start cutting back, if you were in debt would you honestly take out more debt to pay for that and risk paying more in the long run? not very clever if you ask me.

also think its about time they stopped benifits for people erning over 40k.

but you have to admit labour didnt help matters at all. personaly labour never done 1 good thing for me, never have and never will.

of course it was a "world problem" and banks but the old gov just pissed money up against a wall and if you think they didnt you need to look into it more.

You get to go to university if mummy n daddy have the money,not too bothered if you are clever, and will never forget their half assed privatisation of hospitals that still now contributed to the drop in cleanliness standards and brought us diseases within hospitals due to lack of hygeine.

well......Labour Government left us with a huge deficit (again)....and again it's somebody else that has to come and sort it out.... for past couple of years the UK has been spending billions more than it has been recouping in taxes.

It's a bit unfair to come in and say same old tories....same old policies... Huge, savage cuts were inevitable, no matter which party formed the Government after the election.

We've had it far too good for far too long, anyone could see it was going to come crashing down eventually. Just as in other countries around the world just now we all have to bite the bullet and make the best of it.

fuel is linked to vat so exepect it to be over 1.20 in january!

scotland relies on public sector jobs more than england so once the councils recieve their budget allowance expect a lot of job losses and restructures! x

personally think he could have gone a lot further, masses of dead wood in the public sector and don't want to even think about the public sector pensions. As for benefit cuts i support them. I think there are to many people in the country who just don't want to work and are happy to scrounge from the public purse, quite glad we are rid of labour as well to be honest as they weren't making a decent job of things for the last few years. What i really wanted to see was a bankers tax makes those b******s pay punitive sums for their greed.

They should also be cutting the payments to immigrants, illegal or otherwise.

They are planning on cutting the defence budget also ... bloody scandalous if you ask me. Our troops are on basics as it is, have to buy some of their own things to take with them and then they plan to reduce things for them again

Mcluvin When did labour raise vat to 20% think I must have missed that.

What they did do last year though was bring it down to 15%.And as for public sector being paid too much i think thats the management upwards you are thinking about there.

I know for a fact a lot of civil servants are paid a fair bit less than they would be in private industry and part of what they would have got in wages goes towards pensions so a lot of it should be self financing if managed right.

And as for the Liberals they are shown for what they are as they are now supporting everything they campaigned against in the run up, its amamazing how some can lose their principles for the promise of a little bit of power.

Remember them next time.

And lastly any working man who votes Tory just doesnt realy know what that party stands for.

sorry i got mixed up then. honestly thought they raised it. no matter what i still think it had to be done, its 2.5%, not massive. to be honst it wont effect me as much as labours plans would have no matter what you say.

yes that will be true about public sector workers but can also be true for people working anywhere. i work with lots of people that are on very low pay and havent had wage rise for years.

Above was just my opinion which no one has to agree with.

And they ARE all as bad as each other new labour lost the values the Labour party was founded on and as far as I am concerned the choice was right wing Tory or Left wing Tory

The only benefits I get are child benefit (along with everyother parent in the the UK regardless of working) and the childcare element of child tax credit.

When they scrap it for people earning over 40K, then that's me struggling to pay the ridiculous cost of child care in this country. I have a reasonable paying job but to pay for two children in childcare is more than I actually earn. Think nearly £350 a week. So should I just jack it in and go back to sitting around doing nowt and go slowly insane?? I'm not a natural housewife (yes i admit it!) and working is what works for me. I went back to work with the help from the government thinking I'd be ok till both my kids were at school. All of a sudden I'm having the rug ripped from under me and I have to re-assess. It was hard enough finding this job, let alone having to do it again, yet the conlibs are saying they want people back to work when the kids are in school. Seriously ???? in this market, they aint thought this through. I'm no in a small town but I'm only trained in one thing and theres no many jobs doing it round here. Ahhh the wonders of government

just my wee opinion. . . 20%vat is a huge tax on the low paid. Higher paid management and businessmen and women with company cars and company expense accounts were vat is reclaimed dont suffer so much. Its impossible to make sweeping generalisations about benefits and housing without looking at every individual case so alot of very poor people will suffer to catch out a minority of wasters. As for immigrants? U having a laugh? Are we back to the days of ship em all home in a boat society after only a month of tory rule? Legitimate immigrants contribute greatly to this economy and culture not to mention skills. The billions wasted on illegal foreign wars by goverment(labour too) is scandelous and dangerous for those brave servicemen and women. This country is so top heavy with obscenely rich people yet the tories will have the low paid and poor pick up the bill for bankers greed. 40k earners might be on bread line dependant on circumstances yet working tax credit is wiped?? Welcome back mr tory! Did i say all that out loud? Tehe

can you not get help with the cost of your childcare through either tax credits or that thingy with your employe vouchers or something cant remember name of it x

As a home owning couple with no kids and both working full time we get done over in every budget regardless of who's in power.

That said, I'll never vote for labour as long as my arse points south.

2 national strikes in my profession and both under "the working mans party".
