".....and The Doors I was a huge Jim Morrison fan. God, he was delicious. I've visited his grave in Père la Chaise cemetery in Paris three times. Come on Baby Light My Fire " The Lizard King! Did you know that the lyric "Mr Mojo Risin" is an anagram of Jim Morrison as he believed upon his death he would be reincarnated as Mr Mojo Risin. Fuck I'm a total anorak!!

"Couldn't pick 3 I'm one of the elder statesmen on this site and a musician to boot. I have had the opportunity to meet many if my "idols" along the way. My taste in music has evolved over time and there are so many different people at different stages of my life that have influenced what I listen too and even what I play. Came from and old fashioned family so was brought up listening to the Big Band sound so guys like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa got me started drumming. In my teens I found Roger Taylor and more importantly Freddie Mercury, also Cozy Powell, John Bonham and Neil Peart. Here my love for Rock Music was founded and still exits even stronger today In the 80's I discovered Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Neil Young and this deep thinking blue coloured sound Went through a Blues/ Jazz revival and discovered Django Rheinhard and really appreciated Hendrix Never got into the Brit thing with Oasis or the Nirvana grunge thing, Started listening to a lot of Goth Metal originally Marilyn Manson but moved in to more Prog sound. Now I am listening to more Celtic/Gaelic music. I have an ear at the moment for bag rock bands like Chilli Pipers etc. So very difficult to choose just 3 influences " Interesting post. Made me remember that the biggest influence on me was Victor Brox Blues Band.
