Here's my take on this.

Generally (although not all the time), when a gent climaxes, it is at the end of a penetrative sex session when some force and friction has been applied. Unless you are being sucked off by someone who really is like a Dyson, this rarely happens during oral sex, it tends to be a more delicate, less intense act, therefore, likely making it harder to climax.

As I said, this won't be the case for all.

I have found that I have preferred bjs and found them to be 'more effective, if you like, after intercourse, as I am already super turned on and more likely to climax.

But there's no set rule. Hopefully you'll get this resolved and can enjoy many, many more.
