Anyone recommend any reasonably priced hotels with early check in times? Have someone to meet but neither can accomodate when we are both available

Most Travelodges will allow an early check in for a small fee.

Found out by chance that Hilton Hotels do "day rates" - i.e. you can book a room from 9 to 6 at a reduced rate online. Hmmm...opens up some new possibilities! Saves the usual "no I don't need breakfast" line at Travelodges LOL

There's a hotel across from the police station on Pitt street (can't remember the name) who do day rates too!x

That could be the Ibis, although I think there's another hotel in close proximity to the police HQ.

There's an Ibis Express at Springfield Quay, which I think is cheaper than the Pitt Street one.

Didn't know Ibis did day rates, but you can get in from 12 noon.
