chat room saftey

I would like to encourage members especially the females in chat to be carefull when discussing personal info in chat.. eg where they work, where they shop, where they live, phone numbers .....just for thier own personal saftey as thier could be some strange undesirable people using sites like these. It may be an innocent conversation but you dont know whos watching you.

couldnt agree more jo... luckily the lunatics may be in the minority but sadly only takes one......

I have witnessed them exchange really personal stuff in the room and also cocked up whispers...

if yu are gonna share that stuff message it .....

also where meets are to be taking place rests, pubs etc etc .

what made me bring this up was i watched a young single female discuss in the room the area she lived in detail....and she discussed somewhere she went regularly...i found this rather concerning....

well im glad someone mentioned it.....u lot know me by now.....never one to shirk a comment if neccessary..... putting personal details in open chat is foolhardy...and those that do it only have themselves to blame if they suddenly bag a stalker.

altho thinking about it....does anyone wanna stalk my mrs....theres footy on !!!! LOL

This is exactly the type of thing i am talking about trac and it only takes one sexual preditor/wierdo whatever you want to call it to pick this info up....info might be given out in all innocence but you gotta think of ur own safety and the saftey of your family also esp if you have kids.

I dont wish to come accross as a nag but i do think people need to look at the whole picture.

Ill add my 2 cents to this too. Totally agreeing with Jo (of course, I have to, i'm married to her).

When I first started chatting to Jo in 2002 she sent me an email that had her surname on it, although MSN just showed her nickname, the email had her full name on it. With this and an idea of roughly where she lived and she had mentioned her dads name I told her that people could find out where she lived. She didn't believe me. Within 10 minutes I had her address. Obviously at this point Jo trusted me but what about anyone else she emailed a joke etc too?

I have recently mentioned this annomoly with hotmail/msn to a couple of other folk and they have promplty changed the info on Hotmail account, I suggest that you all check your hotmail/yahoo settings to make sure your surname isnt in there.

So, be carefull out there, single fems, married fems, everyone in fact. The internet is a brilliant thing but also brings with it dangers.

Oh and another thing.........

Maybe more for the single fems out there, develop an arrangement with a friend from the site so that if you have a meet (especially with someone new) you can text/call them to say that everything is fine and your safe. Obviously this would be hard to do with a vanilla friend.

yesterday was all about attention...

seen it loads of times.....

new fem.....

the piranha's circlin.....

she had a meet

he had a meet

we discuss it the day after for all to endure.....

ffs they had a shag .... pleased for em both ......

we see em come and go....

and do yu know what .... the worst offenders wont even read the forum lol .........

but as I said earlier... we can advise and keep advising.... its upto them.

We all fall into a false sense of security in the chat rooms as many of the people in there are people we have met at socials etc. But as this is a primarily free site, there are loads of people in the chat rooms that just watch the room go by. We have seen people say in room what pubs they drink in, where they work, what route they take home etc...... even wearing easily identifiable company uniform.

If anyone ever needs any advice then feel free to ask me, i'm quite a gadget freak and have some police knowledge too.

Great topic JandS and rings through a few home truths in relation to my experiences so far. StevenandJ quote"we all fall into a false sense of security" well I have many times recently but surprisingly only ever in the Scotland chat room as described perfectly by View! I believe here lies the problem not really security related more I got a shag related!(not u view, the topic u wrote about sounds like me all over..lol) .

Newcomers to "your" scene( sometimes I get that impression from folk in this "lifestyle" that it is there scene!) don't know "your" etiquette in relation to the chat room . When I 1st entered the chat room I seriously thought I would need a degree in quantum physics to get me started. The rooms on here are designed with open use in mind, meaning the developer paid attention to the all users category of the brief rather than the personal 1-2-1 side when it comes to chat, everything else on FAB, perfection. You cant create your own room and password protect it,private messaging is cumbersome( I really did think a Mr Whisper was getting all the attention in the room for months!). You are then faced with the daunting task of getting involved in a conversation with a group when the text is zooming aff yer screen like a tornado! You then meet someone,(amazing by the way, u probably heard that fae me already in the chat room x) fall into that false sense of security thingy, and talk like an eggit to that person forgetting everyone else can see what your reading( similar happens to me on a night out, meet someone, great conversation forgetting loads of people in ear shot etc etc though obviously print is far harsher than spoken words x)

Anyhow my point being that in my humble opnion it is a design flaw in chat.The piranhas are circling yes, the regulars are chatting yes, and dimwits like me and many others keep slipping into that false sense of security thingy! Now you may sit there and say design fault my arse,I would not talk like that in real life, you can private message, use email, call her for fucksake! but some people like me believe that chat in its current form is a free for all(rules dependant of course). We are all unique and until such times as chat is changed then you can advise to your hearts content but it will never work. You would still get numpties like me smitten by my cherry on fab and the numpties that believe the unwritten rule. There is no unwritten rule, only people, socialising in there way. That's why more choice is needed in chat and more non scene regulars to spice things up!

Anyhow that's enough nonsense fae me,off topic, sort off but that's the way the post was heading!

as people's personal safety is at the forefront ....

if I dont hear the arrangements etc, etc

and god forbid anything happen..

I can look at myself, first and foremost ...... and say , I honestly didnt know anything about it....

I can be , and always will be , reponsible for my own actions, but offer a friendly hand to others.....

Another idea, along with having 2 msn's one for vanilla friends, one for swinging.

Especially for ladies........ SIM cards are cheap if not free now, if you want to give out a number, get a second SIM card and give that number out to new swinging friends.

I could not agree more guys, safety is paramount after all, well is for me and fully understand that those casual conversations can have way too much detail for comfort, security or otherwise.

Good idea about SIMS, think I actually may do that myself.

my last point is ' use of language ' and refer to previous post in the forum ' swingers not tarts '.... and we need to ensure respect based conversations, approaches to ladies etc etc and in MY opinion use of words like 'slut' in room conversations, posts and verifications dont help....

as for welcoming newbies.... we always try and welcome folks to the room and then its upto them .... for the new ladies, thankfully the ' the sisterhood ' always put out that hand of friendship..... well done ladies for that......

The "sisterhood" do indeed try to be there as backup for each other, we often do the old "grannies on the roof" call with femms out for a new meet.. you know the one nip into the toilets and ring for help.. call me back quick!

Have to agree with the use of language and the way people word things View,some may use slut and suggestive names but it's not an open invitation to talk to them as such,the names may have been a good idea at the time but reactions to them are not thought of beforehand, many people also go on cams not to tease or get guys slavering over them but to be seen as genuine and to have a bit of fun with pals, not all femms on cam want directed or called names especially in open chat rooms.

it's a minefield out there when first arriving but with consideration, manners and great mods in the rooms it can be a great experience and lots of fun... happy swinging all xxx
