"Each case will I'm sure be _iewed by its own merits by the court and if a judge deems it not to be racial abuse he must have had a reason for doing so. But without full facts cant really comment any further. But no one should be abused in any way shape or form for any reason. " this

"Woman in South Shields, batters another woman, and racially abuses her, the woman was a native of Glasgow, police charged her and the judge gave her two years in jail, for assault and the verbal abuse I and my brother get racially abused here in Glasgow the Procurator Fiscal wouldnt prosecute the moron who abused my brother and I 3 yrs ago, so much for a tough stance on racial abuse by the SNP!!!! " Were you and your brother beat up?? And what racial abuse?

"should i go back to england where I belong! i have earned my place in scotland, whether certain people like it or not- I am here as long as I wish to be, nobody dictates where I go EVER!!" Nope.... I meant you should become an MP and get it changed.... with all the fault been blamed on the SNP and Salmond...maybe you could make a change? Of course I wouldnt say go and live in England, wouldnt want anyone thinking that was racist.

"Im fairly happy with the last 5 years of SNP government, I used to vote labour but I cannot stand Johann Lamont and seriously cannot see her doing any good for Scotland. I consider the Country badly run due to Westminster, Cameron, Miliband, Clegg, Ed Balls, George Osborne and all the other millionaire cronies who use their MP roll as a "status symbol". The Scottish government is limited to what it can do and also limited with the funds it receives. If you think things are tough now, just wait until all the miss-guided vote no and win the better together campaign on 18th September, the following few years will be hell for Scotland and Westminster will crucify us, wait and watch. And if any Tories here do you seriously think Ruth Davidson could do better I will be voting yes on the 18th as I believe in the Scottish people, regardless of who is voted into power the following year. And one thing the SNP has done, is deliver the promise of the vote for Independence, Do you really think Westminster will allow a vote on Europe, lets wait and see, I suspect we will wait a long long time" with the greatest of respect this isnt an indy ref thread, maybe stick to commenting on the justice/court system.

"the SNP is the ruling party, which probably explains why the country is as badly run as it is- bring back the Labour party is all I can say " I don't like the SNP but Labour? Tired of the establishment as they no longer represent you whether you like it or not. We need something different and rid ourselves of them once and for all. They'll attempt to cling on at whatever cost. It is wrong what you experienced but it's nothing to do with the SNP likely the people handling it.

" I was replying to comments made by the originator of this thread, if the person who made this thread quotes & makes comments on parties in power, I am entitled to stick in my 2p worth as reply, this is a forum and due to being a forum everyone is entitled to their individual _iew otherwise it would not be a forum, and as so my comment above was justified.

"Definition of racism 'Conduct, words or practices which disadvantage or advantage people because of their colour, culture or ethnic origin. It can be subtle or overt, intentional or unwitting.' Now I'm confused - since both the victim and the perpetrator(s) were white and british - where is the racial aggravation? Dreadful incident I agree, but racism? Lets keep the names for the very heinous crimes they are there to address please folks. Racism is a dreadful crime - a fight with name calling between two white Brits on a Glasgow Street is just that - assault/Breach of the peace." I agree totally...I was always under the impression that race meant ethnicity. My feelings are that it greatly trivialises real racist crimes for incidents such as these to be so labelled.

" Totally agree. The racism card is played far too many times and in completely the wrong circumstances. Thus, it waters down any genuine complaints of racism that is abhorrent.
