Just been to the gym........lost 16 lbs in 6 weeks..........I'm having steak and baked beans for tea. On all the TV cookery shows steak is always rare. I'm a med/well guy.

I've always wondered what the majority like.

I was 18st 6 lbs. porridge in the morning. Soup and sandwich (home made) normal tea. No crisps. Occasional chocolate bar. Cut the pints down. Gym 4 or 5 days a week. Madness on the iPhone and away I go.

The first couple if weeks I just did the bike and kept head down as I was conscious of my weight but I booked a 1 on 1 with an instructor and I've got a programme. 15 mins each on bike/treadmill/rower/stepper thing. And 4 different weight machines. 3 x 15 reps per machine. (Reps !!!! I know the jargon now).

Most people go in and do their own thing and it's fine now. Just a part of my day.

I must admit to loving a T-Bone med / well with a baked potato in tin foil with garlic butter, onion rings and mushrooms.

You don't get crispy skin in tin foil

Take it out tin foil for last 5 mins. Can't abide microwaved "baked " potatoes.

Congrats for the weight loss, much better to do it via exercise rather than diet. I'm a gym junkie as well (5 days a week). Like almost any chunk o dead cow, provided it's rare and peppered.

Lol a butcher pal used to tell me a good cut if beef just needs seared and no more to stay tender and juicy where as a bad cut needed incinerated to be palatable have to agree like med rare but only if the meat is good enough
