No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

After Saturdays drinks afternoon/evening it got me thinking about a lot of topics that's been done on the forums in relation to how people look and behave.

What is the first impression you have of someone when you first meet them?

Is it how they look? or how they behave?

I can honestly say I see the personality first,I spent a lot of time on Saturday going round everyone and making sure I had a chat with everyone who was there (yes all 26 of them lol)

And I can say that they were all lovely people in their own unique way.

So my question is do you think we all judge people too quickly on the forums before even meeting them?

I think many do build up a picture that isn't always a true reflection of the person in reality.

What do you think?

Im a great believer in 1st impressions

Once i make up my mind about someone Its very difficult for me to change

Always go with my gut instintct oh...and their shoes lol

My first impressions are usually based on looks as 99% of the meets I have had are much better looking in person and I'm always pleasantly surprised.

We all judge someone based on their views on here but that doesn't mean I've formed an opinion of them already, and if I had, I always believe in giving second chances cause I'm nice like that

I know plenty on here think I'm a bitch but most are surprised by how nice and down to earth I actually am. Aye I'm sarcastic, blunt and say things before I think but that's why people like me cause I'm not afraid to say things that others can't

Not until I have met/spoke to them face to face though...

There is not one person on these forums that I wouldnt at least say hi to if I met them at a party/social....

Some I have met and said hi to....and dont intend to give them time of day again

Depends on whats judged as 1st impression.

Has to be a physical meeting, phone, text etc never really convey the full person, you need to see the eyes to know and it takes at least 10 minutes to judge

Dosnt matter if Its face to face really as if someones nasty behind a Keyboard or your back....there Hardly likely to be nice in real Life?

As Its been said many a Time on the forums....alot if posts do make up your mind about an individual.

For me I spent time also on saturday chatting to everyone (some more than others)

But when first meeting then some of my perceptions of what they would be like we're somewhat different ..

It's good to see people face to face as it's very true , a forum is a tiny part of someone's character .

I'm all for giving people the chance to be themselves in person rather than cast them aside because of something they have written unless it's been nasty and directly intended on hurting me. Even then my nature is to give another chance

I got called a bitch cause I never introduced myself at a social I organised with a fellow member. I was speaking to others and before I went to the couple in question I had to pee, came back and they were gone and I had a lovely message to say how horrible I was and that was less than 10 minutes. Now I'm not one to piss all over people I'm introducing myself to so I must no be kinky enough hah

Yeah agree behaviour in.messages and forums only tell a small part likewise pics on here so much better to.make the judgement in person I think esp after talking tobthem my mind can change

I think everyone has a little bit of nastyness in them it's whether they show it or not, but some use it more than others sometimes I am nasty because people find me being brutally honest but it is how the person comes across no one should be judged I leave that to the courts. So no looks don't matter it helps but really is a necessity xx

It may seem rather intolerant of me but my belief is that you only get one chance to make a first impression and if thats not a good one it tends to stay that way for me no matter whether it comes in a message, in a forum post or face to face. I'm not going to say that my gut instinct is always right, but it has served me well. Perhaps strangely, i believe it is easier for people to hoodwink you face to face. Some are excellent at being charmingly false.

As much as an immediate first impression is normally if you find the person pleasant on the eye...sure;y it takes a while to find out and know Why the person is the way they are ?

I am sure we have all had things in life happen to us that can change us...either for the good or the bad...but then we should all learn from the things that happen and hopefully make a positive from them ?

These things can last a lifetime or just for a short while and can affect us long or short term.

But a persons Core or Character is one of the hardest things in life to change.

So for me its the persons Character....as a Good Core cannot be faked ( for long )...or learned.

First impressions are important. That's why we insist on a social first as you can chat away on here and get one impression of a person but meeting them face to face gives you a much better impression of what they are really like

It's impossible to judge a person by forum posts or even their profile. Chats by pm help but nothing beats a face-to-face. I take folk as I find them and always try to be pleasant.

You can't beat a face to face chat but first impressions are important - just not the 'be all and end all'

A profile and forums posts can give you an idea of someone's beliefs and personality.

Email can give you more depth to someone's character.

But face to face is the best way to get to know someone

I'm unsure of the kind of impression i'd give as it would depend on whether I was in male garb or dressed . I would make my decision no matter how I appeared prefer a face to face to make my mind up .

For me, I do look at people and watch how they behave first. I rarely remember people's fab names and although I've probably talked to a lot on here and chat, I have a really crap memory!

A lot of people judge on behaviour, and I am normally judged on LadyIces behaviour, but that isn't the person in real life. Icey is just a fab persona. Take me away from any fab related environment and I'm a different person altogether. She's the bold yin!
