Trainers on Men of a certain age.

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Lila posting for a change.

Okay this is just my opinion. So don't shoot me down for it.

But one of my pet hates is trainers on men on a night out. Especially of they are over the age of 25. Just NO. Make an effort guys.

How many times do you see couples out at night. The female is dressed lovely and has obviously spent time on her hair, make up and outfit. Then you look at the guy. Trackies and trainers.

Can't say it too many times guys...Invest in a proper pair of expensive shoes. With heels and laces. Then take the time to polish and clean them.

Do this and you can get away with jeans and a white or black tee shirt and suit jacket.

My top ten things in a guy:

Smile.

Eyes.

Teeth.

Shoes.

Posture.

Pose.

Hair.

Smell.

Bum.

Clothes.

Any night out i've been on I've neever actually came across a guy wearing tracksuit/bottoms and trainers I've seen guys wear nice jeans a nice shirt and trainers but to be honest never really bothered me as I still think if they look casual enough to go out with and men's feet aren't really the thing I look at when I talk to a guy lol

Each to their own but if I turned up in a pair

of slip on hush puppies with a t jacket and bunnet like jack and victor surely you'd send me back to the nursing home?

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

I think guys should wear what ever they want as long as it's neat and tidy.

I guess it depends on the situation,I had one guy meet me for lunch In trainers and gym gear lol would have though the gym would, have had changing rooms to change out of his fear lol

Only wear trainers if it's a random night out. You know the times when you have a couple drinks due the day or after work and end up trying to get into nightclubs with work clothes on haha

And for some one with a three line moaning profile...with no meets.....well done you.

Just realised that. Sorry. But don't you just hate negative posts.

If you have nothing nice or helpful to say then don't post.

And if I want to be pedantic about it some of the best dressed men in the world are comfortable in a dark suit jacket and designer jeans.

Think Brad Pitt, George Clooney, David Backham.....all have been photographed

What woman would not go weak for David Beckham in a white tee shirt, dark blue suit jacket and designer jeans...

So you thought you could just post your opinion and only receive positive feedback? Not sure thats how discussion forums work to be honest. Mind you I am just a mere over 25 year old man who wears trainers so what would i know? I certainly dont know what my number of meets has to do with anything but for the record over the course of the 2 profiles Ive had here Ive had far more than the 1 that I currently have showing. And guess what, I wore trainers to every single 1 of them so i guess they arent that bad after all

I, Lila, don't post often times on this forum.

I leave that to Dexter. However tonight I thought I'd share my thoughts about what I like to see in a man.

Bearing in mind I am 46 year old mature woman. So I like a certain style of dress.

Now almost all the the posts have been good natured. And what I'd expected from a forum. Each to their own.

But like I said at the start...this is just my opinion. Everyone else will have there own.

I just wish negative people would simply not post rather than add sniping comments. Its says so much more about them than me.

Have fun and be safe.

Ah the sheer breadth of male fashion never ceases to make me fall into a pit of despair.

"Shall I wear the blue or black jeans with this particular colour of patterned/printed shirt?"

Is about the size of it, and why mens clothes shopping takes about 5 minutes a year.

In Edinburgh, there are very few dress codes, and i actually like guys that wear trainers. But then i like younger looking guys, i like skaters / bladers / bmxers etc

This! Ive always had a thing for the casual look - nice jeans with a cool belt, good pair of dark DCs or similar, nice fitted tshirt. Yup, nice!

As for nights out, ive seen a few guys with trainers and it doesnt do much for me. Just doesnt look right or as if theyve made an effort. Especially if the trainers are white lol

My humble opinion is .....

If you feel inclined too make the effort in creating a forum post you really need to take all comments on board wether they are good or bad...

You said ..This is just my opinion ...don't shoot me down for it ..

I always wear trainers. I have a large collection all kept in their boxes. I have pairs for the gym/running. Pairs for work. Pairs for casually wearing going to shops and stuff and pairs for going out into town etc. being comfortable is the most important thing. Shirts n shoes aren't for me and if I felt uncomfortable it would effect my confidence etc.

If I wear a suit I will wear shoes but that's not very often.

As a side note woman that wear high heels and can't walk properly or end up with blisters or taking them off look ridiculous. Just wear flat shoes and be comfortable, men don't really notice anyway lol
