I'm going to hamburg for a weekend with a few mates for 1 of their 40th birthdays. Has anyone ever been and recommend any places to visit

You have to have a bratwurst with mustard mit pommes, washed down with a größer Bier warsteiner ist gut. Have a few of those.

Basically the whole of the Reeperbahn - if you're up to it of course lol. There's lots of ummmmm clubs to investigate. The Safari and the Dollhouse are two that spring to mind. Also try out the Herbertstrasse if you're looking for something more along the line of Amsterdam's Red Light area. There's the Grosse Freiheit too, with a good few bars and clubs. Watch yourself and your wallet around here though as you're in the St. Pauli district - its Hamburg's dosshole basically.

If you're into footy, HSV's stadium - Die Imtech Arena - is worth a visit too.

Hamburg is also the home of Holsten Pils.

Oh aye - next to fuck all going on there on Sundays - and most of Germany for that matter.

I love Hamburg...... never have guessed eh? lol
