What's your best cheap/easy meal?

Being a student funds are normally low ( not sure due to nights out I swear... )

But wondering what cheap but good and easy meals you all make? Need some more ! I make a mean pasta haha

Making a pot of soup is always a cheap & tasty option, or bolognaise isn't too expensive. Another option is omelette, only as expensive as what you decide to put in it.

Soups,casseroles,chilli all easy and can bulked out with veg and beans.

On the pasta front marzetti is good and easy to cook.

Curry is quite cheap and easy. I use mushy peas, baken beans and tinned tomatoes with curry powder. Then you can add what veg you want, quorn is cheap and good for you x

dried chickpeas, cheaper in ethnic supermarkets, soak overnight and use in felafal(yum!) also good in stews with chorizo (lidls).

Chicken stir fry.

2 x chicken fillets at £4.00

1 x fresh bag of stir fry £1.00

1 packet of Blue Dragon Egg noodles £0.80p. (Comes with 6 nest of noodles but one is enough)

Season with salt and pepper and add garlic, chilli ,light soy sauce and a dash of Worcester sauce.

2 dinners for less than 6 quid.

I used to have 18p noodles from Aldi, actually amazing!! Add some bread and you're sorted! Can't beat cheesy pasta either!

There's loads of cheap and easy things you can make, my usual go to things are a pasta bolegnese (i wish ragu still made the red wine and herb sauce), chilli (gotta be uncle bens sauce-hot), pizza (can't beat an in store made asda chicken fajita one), and of course mince and tatties to name but a few things.

It's 4am and now i just want to cook something!

Cheap and easy -

soften a chopped onion in a pot with a little oil, garlic and chilli.

Add a carton of passata 29p, and some chicken stock (Veg if a veggie) simmer for 25 mins to reduce. add seasoning and a pinch of sugar.

You can add anything to this to bulk it up, fry off a chicken breast, or chopped peppers/mushrooms/courgette etc whatever on special!

Mix it with pasta for a delicious healthy meal.

ps. If feeling extravagant, a dessert spoon of Philadelphia stirred in to sugo just before serving turns it into a lovely creamy tomato sauce.

I Have them too lol! Who needs supernoodles ! Cheesy pasta though.... Worst dish in the world to me haha

Eggs mixed up like an omelette, with mushrooms, onions, cheese and thin bits of any cooked meat, put in a shallow ovenproof dish and cook until done at 200. Jobs a good un.

go to your local supermarket half hour before closing. Can pick up meat (500g) for a pittance and you can make 3 or 4 meals from it..and freeze

Also try soya mince- its cheap as, filling and nutritious.

I can generally do a food shop for 3 for 30 quid a week
