Why would a card make me smile? If the person loved me I wouldn't need it in a card there is no need For valentines day to exist

Nothing wrong with abit of spoiling on valentines day and you dont have to spend a fortune. There are other ways to show your love. Besides its alway nice to receive. I know it would put a smile on my face

but why need a specific day to show your love for someone? And if you research "Saint Valentine" (of of 11) none of them were associated with love or romance

perks not facts, fit you like, maybe i should have wrote it in doric

ok

1. Treat yourself, not having to shell out on a heart shaped trinket means you can shell out on yourself.

2. On the 15th you can buy discounted valentines chocolate and the best bit is you dont need to share.

3. No need to wait 45 mins for a table at a restaurant with a special valentines menu at premium prices when you can get a kebab in 5 mins.

4. No need to squeeze into fancy lingerie your tighty whities and onsies are good enough.

5. You can have a movie marathon with your imaginary celebrity boyfriend/girlfriend.

6. Look at the money you saved (UK average spend £95.80), no date is money in the bank.

7. Do something your previous significant other would have frowned upon, the world is your oyster.

8. If you do start wishing you had a date, head for a bar anyone on their own is almost guaranteed to be single too (or get fab ).

adapted some slightly from the american versions.

don't celebrate either of those (and yes, I am a mother), but 14th of Feb now seems to be just another consumer rip off that makes a single person even more unloved/unwanted, whilst couples throw it up how loved they are (not saying all couples)

For me personally, I haven't celebrated it for the past 15years as it has a totally different meaning for me.

But hey, celebrate however you want (not you personally, just in general), just don't forget it's a lonely time for a lot of people, as is Christmas (hate that too) xx

E.K . Glasgow

It is whatever you want to make of the day I don't go overboard . Card with meaningful verse 99p chocolate's £5 flowers are the problem has to be yellow roses hard to find when most places overstocked with red ones . Fine lingerie is what i'd like to get but never have .

its a load of pish. Too much effort for an enforced love in. Maybe a wee gesture like breakfast in bed or something if you're taking a relationship up a gear but nah, couldnae give a Castlemaine XXXX
