Why do ppl put a certain age requirement, we've met some fit middle aged ppl that would put young folk to shame i don't see the point in it what your thoughts

Everyone has preferances for their own reasons.

Also if you dont see the point why do you have the age preferances you have set on your own profile ? Why not 18-99?

oops need to change that, we set it the first time we started to swing as we were not sure what to expect, cheers for having a look inspector dynamite.

I totally agree about setting preferences...and its a great facility to have...or I doubt girls Inboxes would ever get read ? Not sure about the Winking if outside the criteria ? Actually not sure about Winking at all...as most girls on here don't seem to like them ?

It's not that we don't like it from personal preference winks are a load of shit it's that bad I don't know how many I have got a it's ether log in, inbox or browse and of course forums are the only tabs I look at lol

I regularly message people and get replies from people where I am out with their age parameters.

I have my own browse filters set to look for people where I fit their requirements so as to be lead directly to the right people.

A message appears warning you are out with parameters or you've messaged and not received a reply from in the past. However I've never been stopped from messaging out with or at least I don't think I have.

I have a few friends I here I chat to regularly and I'm out with their age parameters

Friends dont count. The following can message directly regardless of filters. People you have winked, its only fair they can respond. People you have messaged for the same reason. Peolpe on your friends list cause thats common sense.

That doesnt happen very often and I got sick of seeing pics of their naked bodies...so I filter them out

I only meet through CJ's anyway so it doesnt really matter to me...

It would appear that people don't understand the filter system.

I'm 55, I can message a lady who has an upper age limit of say 50. However, if the lady has used a filter to back-up that upper limit of 50, then I can't message her. Simple!

Because they can.

We wouldn't want to meet someone who's 60 and there's probably plenty of 20 year olds who wouldn't want to meet people of our age. That's just the way things are and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

People normally only complain about these things when they find themselves outside other people's preferences

If you are outwith their age range but can still initiate first contact.. and get the warning message. It means they have set their preferences.... but not activated age filters. If they had set filters you wouldnt be able to mail at all

The thing being as you get older should the age range not increase to so if one year it's 30-55 it should be going up to 56 the following year .

Nothing wrong with it, people don't like the idea of going with someone 20 years older/younger than them. That said, a lot of the girls around my age group seem to have their head screwed on as opposed to a lot of older women who appear, well, immature. Same will go for a lot of guys too. Immaturity is a huge turn off for me, regardless of actual age.

Totally agree here... I am a yoga practicing 42 year old man who is not too unpleasant to the eye and has retained his reasonably athletic shape although I do like cake!

Its a shame that some folk miss out on genuine contact that are outside their age range. But at the end of the day would you really want someone like that contacting you?
