Hoffman was found in his New York apartment yesterday. Apparently he died of a drug overdose

Such a shame.

You may remember Schell as Tea Leoni's dad in deep impact but he had a long career

Early Hoffman films include Twister. Let's not forget his comic genius too in The Boat That Rocked. But he was also in mission impossible 3 and the talented Mr Ripley

A lot of people might recognise miximilian schell as the german commander at arnhem in "a bridge too far"

won an oscar for judgement in berlin

other films of his i think some of you will recognise are

the odessa file

cross of iron

joan of arc

deep impact

vampires

too many to name as he was in around 100 films and also had a distinguished career on stage and as a director.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman won oscar for capote.

While he is best known for big studio productions like

hunger games

red dragon

talented mr ripley

was in many qualitylow budget films

late quartet

jack goes boating

Synecdoche new york

But was most at home acting and directing on stage.

Macmillan Schell was such a beautiful man in his youth. A real heart throb....very brooding presence...

PSH....gone way too soon. I thought he had conquered his demons but it appears not. So sad. He had so much more to give....

PSH had conquered his demons in his early 20s but unfortunately they reared their heads again early last year.

It's sad that he leaves behind a young family too

hoping your negative outlook doesnt bring you any bad karma my friend.

I think it is sad, any loss of life is and deffo have sympathies for the family, but do wonder why when its a celeb is a 'sad loss' and 'will be sadly missed' yet there are young kids dying every day and in the main they are dismissed as 'just another junkie'....that's sad.

to be honest i dont know whether you would want bad karma or not for any reason.

perhaps it would be wise to accept that Phillip Seymour Hoffman just like the rest of us was imperfect and move on.

dr deep no one is trying to deny you your opinion but as was stated previously this thread is for people who wish to pay tribute to the talents of two men, you have chosen to make it a platform for a negative and disparaging judgemental attitute.

just because you can doesnt mean you must.

A piece of advice which i hope you take on board.

take care of your thoughts when alone, take care of your words when with others.

My behaviour? To say I have no sympathy for junkies....yes I agree I've been outrageously shocking!

What I don't get is your intent to start a personal vendetta, or so it appears, because someone has a different opinion to your own.

I suggest if you wish to post your opinions about a dead junkie then do so.....I will not object or harass you in any way whatsoever....but please do not harass other people who post opposite feelings... It really does border in the childish

my friend if you look back through this thread its intent is obvious.

you simply seem intent on hijacking the thread with your opinion on drug use, as i have said before a thread to pay tribute to TWO men.

you have had a number of opportunities to move on and leave the thread to those who wish to do that.

Congratulations on your aim of disrupting other users attempts to show their respect for TWO talented actors.
